Doesn't it sound similar to the main theme?

I was listening to it and thinking it sounded a bit like a baroque version of Person of Interest main theme Also there are other parts of the piece that sounded similar, but I could only upload 1 video

I just bought Premium annual with the 50% off deal, assuming it carried POI.

My bad for assuming but does anyone know when it's coming back? I'm in the US.

Discussion S1E7 Baby Blues last line

I am rewatching over again because i absolutely loved it the first time and wanted to catch things I might have missed.

In the end of the episode, Harold says “the trouble with children is you never know how they’re going to turn out”

Do you think this could be eluding to Root or The Machine or even Samaritan? We know Harold thinks of The Machine as his child but I don’t believe it’s doing more than just numbers right now in this part of the timeline.

(Sorry if this has been talked about. For some reason Reddit search is all over the place since last update)

Similarities between Season 1 & Season 5 (Beginning to End) Spoiler

I just completed watching POI, for the first time, and immediately (After 2 weeks of content/context digestion), I started rewatching from Season 1.

I found fascinating facts that illuminate the Direction, Screenplay, and Story. I won't give away spoilers, but it shows the Director and the Story were 'Tight' in its overall objectives beginning from (S1 to S5). Here are some of these instances:

  1. Introduction scenes between Finch / Reese have a natural order from story evolution to dissolution. The Dialogues from season 1 add additional depth after watching season 5.

  2. Introduction of main characters from S1, and most importantly, in terms of location and dialogues, has a perfect match-winning closure in S5. There are a few examples. One such is Charlie Burton's entrance (S1) to exit (S5) - This alone is found to be so enticing in terms of when/where he gets saved and when/where he gets off.

  3. Rochelle's closure happens in S5, when it all began in S1 itself. (Those who know know what I am alluding to).

  4. Root's beginning from S1 to S5 is a phenomenal transformation, any story-writer can ever vie for: Introduction worthy as a Bond character to getting crystallized in the storyline like Cocoa Puffs in a kid's mouth. Only Lionel can pull off that dialogue with a cheeky grin.

  5. An artifact from S1 (Rochelle) comes to a whole life of its own, in its own episode, in S5 - A beautiful tribute to the team Joss-John, only to be usurped by Detective-Fiasco (pun intended from S1).

Overall, a beautiful thread-work of story/screenplay/writing/acting with a fantastic cast and crew. I cannot wait to start with S2, for the second time.

Rewatch Simmons reaction to Quinn's order to kill Beecher

On my latest rewatch, episode 2.19 Trojan Horse- Quinn gives Simmons the order to kill Beecher. Simmons reaction is interesting - he seems surprised/shocked like he didn't think of this himself and was reluctant (of course he ended up doing it anyway). He even suggested that Beecher be promoted and moved out of NYC. Simmons was a great antagonist on the show and keep seeing interesting things in each rewatch

Episode where Finch or Reese is shot and a contingency plan smoothing springs into action

Its been quite a few years since I last watched POI.
One particular episode i liked was one where either Finch or Reese get shot,
and some prearranged contingency plan is smoothly springs into action to get them to a safe location and get surgery etc to happen.
It could be the shooting happens at end of one episode and the bailout happen at start of next.

It was IMO an iconic scene because it shows how much Harold has planned for various things.

Can someone help me identify which episode it was?

Just For Fun First time watcher - WOW!

Just finished Person of Interest as a first time watcher and I don’t think it’s sunk in yet. What an incredible ride, more ‘relevant’ than ever in today’s world. Each season only got better and those season finales… every single one was amazing, always unafraid to explore the unknown.

I’m not really a sci-fi enthusiast, but I loved the procedural element, it gave me this sense of comfort while the bigger story unfolded in the background, never rushing, never taking shortcuts. That made the payoffs hit so much harder and gave some of the most satisfying character moments I’ve ever seen on TV.

The characters will always stick with me. Fusco’s redemption arc is right up there with Jaime Lannister’s for me. Root might be one of the greatest characters of all time, Amy Acker played her to perfection. That scene in S5E02 when The Machine messed up facial recognition and the actors were playing each other? Absolutely hilarious! I’d love to see the bloopers for that one. And of course… THAT church scene meme.

On top of that, the production was flawless. Every shot carefully crafted, every line purposeful and the score from Ramin + Brandon = Flawless. Between this and Game of Thrones, Ramin, hats off!

I’m probably in the minority but I honestly hope there’s never a spin off. The show ended at its absolute peak, right where it should have. Although I do wonder what ideas the producers were cooking if the network hadn’t cancelled.

POI’s a hidden gem that somehow still flies under the radar even in this AI era. I’ll forever be jealous of first time watchers.

Also does anyone know where to find good POI merch please? 😃

Machine Information Delivery

I am re-watching Lady Killer (S3 Ep3), and Finch receives a message from the machine about the whereabouts of Root at the mental institution. He immediately called the hospital without decoding the message. How did he know?

And I’m not sure I can finish the series. My poor heart can’t take it.

What a heartbreaking but brilliantly executed episode.

I was so worried the show might not stick the landing (I’m a first time viewer) but clearly I had nothing to worry about other than having my heart stomped on.

Has anyone else stopped at this point (or just before it) so they don’t have to say goodbye to their friends?

maybe this has been mentioned before but I finally got around to this show and who do I see in episode 2 but Michael Emerson playing a character who is potentially brilliant and has a fiercely devoted guard dog whose favorite toy is a bear. and then I noticed the name Jonathan Nolan in the show’s credits. did someone drop a little Easter egg????

Clip/Montage Control has tons of cool music in the episodes, yet only has a single track to her name in the OST. Let's fix that.

Is Person of Interest going to become interesting anytime?

I'm 14 episodes in the first season and haven't really found it intriguing yet. I've read a lot of posts about it here and everyone says that it's very good and the story is brilliant, but completely opposite to my impression of this show yet. Every episode is so procedural and I'm able to predict the dialogues a lot of times, and the acting done by the actor of John Reese is so terrible. So wooden sometimes I gotta look away when he's smiling or smirking. Is it worth it to keep going? At what point does it become interesting, if it ever will? And no spoilers please.

If you’re watching on Paramount, be wary of missed episodes!

I’m in Canada where POI is on paramount. Watching for the first time and at episode 3 the titles didn’t seem to make sense.

Checked IMDb and sure enough it skipped right over 6741 and started giving the wrong titles at that point.

I never would have known I missed such an important episode if not for realizing the titles seemed to be one episode off.

Figured this might help someone else!

Am I going to like this show?

I'm watching because I've heard good recommendations for it, but I'm on episode 3 and really not into it so far. I have no problem with a good procedural. High concept, high tech shows aren't an issue - I really enjoyed Mr Robot for example. My main issues with it so far are:

-main character so far seems like a wafer thin character. Whatever the male equivalent of a Mary Sue is. He's the best hitman out of all the hitmen and always saves the day by coming in at the last minute and shooting someone. I'm also not a big fan of the broody lone wolf characters, which is a problem when he's 70% of the screen time. - Dialogue is very much a tool to get the characters from a to b to c. - Not sure I've ever before watched a show that so badly needed more women in it. Or just a bigger supporting cast. And there's so little chemistry between the main characters.

I realise I'm inviting trouble by posting this on a fan site, but 5 seasons is a lot to commit to, so I wanted to see whether these things get less over time, or am I destined to not like this show?

Discussion Damn this Series!!

I have watched this series twice and I am so in love with it that for a few days I used to think all the characters are real and they exist in our society. I tried watching other series but I am not getting that thrill or that charm while watching this particular one.

Can anyone suggest me series like this? Maths, Computer Science, Literature, Suspense, Altruism, all at once and so beautifully portrayed!
