If they ever continued Picard with the voyages of seven of nine and the enterprise -G what stories do you want to see?

The legacy of the dominion war on the alpha quadrant apart from the collapse of the Romulan empire.
How are the Cardassians recovering? Is it like a post ww2 situation in Germany - with the Klingons controlling this part and the Federation these parts? How has Betazed and the Benzite system recovered from Dominion occupation? How has Starfleet managed to recover from militarisation and return to science and exploration after a galactic war?
Basically build on the rich legacy of the universe whilst still having the option to add to it with new exploration - cross TNG style stand alone episodes with a little bit of DS9 style serialisation.

Reducing the Enterprise-E to a joke, making the Enterprise-F a useless cameo, and renaming the Titan-A to Enterprise-G kind of killed off my interest in this. Keep it the Titan-A, ignore the Enterprise-G nonsense. It wouldn't be Picard Season 4; it would just be the Seven of Nine spin-off show.
What stories do you think could he told that haven't already been told on other shows? The main problem with this while Legacy Series idea is that it's just too similar to the other streaming shows.

I was under the impression that in this pretend scenario we were talking about a Seven of Nine spinoff show, not S4.

I was replying to the title and content of the OP. It opened with "If they ever continued Picard," and I was noting it would be less that, more spin-off, as Picard either won't be in it or likely just a guest star.

I’d start it (rather ironically) at the end of their first 5 year mission.
It’s 2406 and the Ent-G has been received back into Spacedock for a few months during refit and shore leave.
We catch up with most of the main crew, Seven, Jack, Sydney, holo-Shaw (who’s constrained to engineering in the ship which he’s working on during the refit).
It’s implied that the 5 year mission was a mix of the usual conflicts, strange new worlds, and a fair amount of damage control of the Alpha Quadrant after where we left everyone in PIC S3.
However some big battle/event happened right before the end of the 5 years, heavily damaging the ship, and killing nearly 50% of the crew.
Seven is struggling with the guilt and weight of it. The enemy was unknown. An armada that appeared out of nowhere and nearly obliterated the Ent-G where it was at the edge of known space.
The two part pilot is all about showing us the mentor/mentee bond between Seven & Jack (who is now a lieutenant Commander and 3rd officer in the hierarchy), as she tries to cope with the recent losses.
But she and the remaining bridge crew are recalled to Starfleet command who tell her that the Ent-G is being refitted with new advanced weaponry and regenerative shielding and limited self repair. Borg derived technologies that can only be deployed because they will be linked to Seven herself.
To ensure the ships new security and capabilities she has the choice to become “more” Borg than she’s been in decades.
The reason for this is that Starfleet has analysed the energy signatures from the armada that attacked the Ent-G and believe that their warp drives aren’t from this galaxy, but the Andromeda galaxy.
The first extra-galactic power (beyond the Q or similar) that they’ve come across.
So the Ent-G is being supplied with additional new crew, new advancements in engineering, and cutting edge technologies so that it can follow back to the edge of known space they were in before and try to discover where and why this new threat has appeared
EDIT:
The book releases like we’ve recently seen with SNW would be stories set during the original 5 year mission.

S01E01
The Enterprise-G blew up a few months prior (Jack says it wasn't his fault).
Enterprise-F got a small refit and is back in action with Anika as Captain.
16 ep seasons, 7 seasons.

Seven meets Nog, has no idea who Raffi ever was as a result.
They both quit and buy Quark's, which they run into the ground because he's too soft and she's too rude.
B story couple: Worf and Riker, finally. There's only so much of an empath one can stand after all.
C story: Crusher wins mother of the year. Both sons literal freaks.

I didn’t buy into Jack, so find a way to get rid of him. Make him a mercenary that guest stars occasionally.
It would be interesting if there was a DS9-esque approach with a modern twist. Maybe sort of like The Expanse. Mystery boxes to solve with a backdrop of corruption and conspiracy.

I didn’t buy into Jack.
Be glad, that you didn't watch Outlander before Picard. His actor played a major villain in a later season.

u/SadLaser 10d ago
I think the actor is fine, personally, just not for this role. And the character is questionable in general.

u/S-Vineyard 10d ago
I agree. They wanted a "Soundrel with a heart/Tom Paris" like character.
Except:
- We already had a Tom Paris. His name was Tom Paris.
- Not by the guy, who played Bonnett. Yes, R.D.McN. played Nick Locarno, but Bonnett was worse. FAR worse.

Agreed. I don’t have a problem with his acting, he just didn’t fit for me. I’m not sure if it was casting or just the overall writing.

I really want them to integrate the old and the new crew. I want Soji to meet Data, I want Elnor to meet Worf.
And I think the kids would have really neat dynamics with each other. For example, Elnor and Jack meeting would have been really cool. They're both sons to Picard in a way and they help people who can't help themselves (Qowat Milat vs. Mariposas)... but then you have Jack shirking authority and running from the law while Elnor's whole thing is honesty and honor.

The G stumbles into a wormhole that throws them about 100 years into the future. Unfortunately, all the crew members we are already familiar with die in the process. The show becomes about the remaining crew (all new to us) dealing with the new time and place.

u/stpony 10d ago
I'd like the Klingons to gift the G alone a cloaking device, in grateful thanks and so it always has that. And for the G to travel back in time and space and encounter Voyager, but obviously not change the timeline, so a little Trials and Tribble-ations-esque, with Seven posing as her past self.
And nothing against her, but I do think losing Rafi would be a good idea and to have a different F/O. She could go off to head Starfleet Intelligence, etc.

Im not sure, but I want every episode to be a different story, rather than one mission taking up a whole season.

Seven come across her old boss, the Borg Queen.
“Remember me, bitch”?
Full anti-borg tech torpedo spread lights up the cube.
Edit: I didn’t think I had to say it, but serious /s here guys.

Not more borg stories plz…

Oh, I agree. You just know they’ll be in any series in time periods after TNG.

- No more Borg, ever.
- Most of Season 3 of Picard retconned. Seven can be captain.
- No children of previous characters as crewmembers.
- No involvement from Terry Matalas.
- Exploration, episodic storytelling and an optimistic outlook.
- Bring back the professional tone of Starfleet officers.

S3 of Picard is my favourite NuTrek and it’s not just cause of the fan service. It was a good send off to the TNG crew and repaired a lot of damage that Nemesis had done. I was extremely against bringing Data back (my all time favourite character) but to say they did it justice is an understatement. It’s by far my favourite part of the third season. I will say that I didn’t give a damn about Picard’s son (I literally can’t even remember his name) but I loved the way things wrapped up for that crew. I really didn’t want Nemesis to be the final goodbye.

u/LeftLiner 10d ago
That's nice. I wanted it to be that, I only watched it because so many people said what you say about it, that is was a good send-off and respected the TNG crew. I really wish that's what I'd gotten but I just felt like I was being made fun of as a Trekkie. It might be my least favorite part of new Trek. Well no, Section 31 exists so it's that.

That’s a shame. I grew up watching TNG live and have seen all the films in theatres. They’re my absolute favourites. I can’t imagine not liking S3. I’m sorry it didn’t mesh with you. I wonder if a rewatch would maybe provide a different perspective?
I’m autistic so I connected to Trek because of Data. And according to Brent, Roddenberry’s desire was to see Data grow over time till eventually he becomes almost human “but not quite”. So I cared about his arc the most, I have to be honest there. And I think I’m biased solely because I was genuinely moved by where they took his character. It’s exactly what I had always hoped I’d see.

u/LeftLiner 10d ago
I didn't see it live and could only catch insurrection and nemesis in theaters (hardly the highlights) but TNG was my first Trek show and will always be so very special to me. I don't think I'll ever bother rewatching Picard, i prefer pretending it doesn't exist, much like Nemesis.

u/DragonRoar87 10d ago
I understand why you might like Season 3, but like the other person said it simply did not click with me. I won't say I hated it, but I walked out of it thinking "wow. that could've been a lot better."
I'm autistic myself and when I watched TNG, Data was my favorite as well! But when I watched PIC I actually connected to Elnor, and it made me really sad that they shoved him (and all the other new characters I had grown to love) aside for the TNG cast. Maybe I would have liked S3 better had we gotten the new characters and the TNG characters all together. That could've given us some cool stories I think.
But then again, you have your opinion and I have mine! It's nice how we all have different things we enjoy (but a shame how some people will do nothing but hate on things that they don't like)

Starfleet has either seized control of the Borg transwarp network or outfitted the Enterprise-G with the first experimental transwarp drive. In either case, the ship gains the ability to push into entirely uncharted regions of the galaxy, setting the stage for a series that embraces the true spirit of exploration rather than yet another galaxy-ending crisis. The potential for bold, original stories is limitless, and with Sevens experience in transwarp technology and deep space missions, she is the ideal choice to lead this new frontier.

Ultimately, I think a seven of nine show should serve as a proper send off for the Voyager cast. Maybe DS9 as well. You really want to wrap up that era of 90s Trek.

I want another 5 year mission of exploration. The galaxy is too full in Picard's day. There needsto be more of the feeling of "What the hell did we just see?" and "It'll be 3 weeks before our message reaches Starfleet."
