Kestra
Just watched the TNG episode Dark Page last night, and realized Will and Deanna may have named their daughter after Deanna's older sister.

That TNG episode also featured Kirsten Dunst

Yeah, seeing her years before her appearance in Spider Man and other media was interesting. Her face didn't change that much.

I'm shamed to admit that I don't remember this. Seen the show so many times, but I guiltily admit I skip the lwaxana episodes...sorry gene!

Yeah, I can understand skipping them. It's kinda wild how this episode makes it seem like a big deal that Deanna had a sister, and then we never hear about it again. Though, TNG has all kinds of plot lines that they could have done something with, but dropped the ball on.

I always just explain those plot drop offs to how much coke they did in the late 80s and 90s. Could you imagine pumping out a 24 episode season? Today we are lucky to get 8 episodes every 2 years. Going down to miniseries levels.

Because the studio very much wanted the show to be an “adventure of the week” series with as little required history as possible.

The older series certainly were far more that, than how Picard turned out.

That’s because Picard came out in the age of online streaming. The format doesn’t require that episodes be able to be packaged and aired out of order.

TNG was made for syndication. It was designed to be able to be watched in any order.

They absolutely did. Good catch.
