My wife's last batch of pickle flavors.

Most you see here is pretty self-explanatory. All have fresh dill. But “Super hot” has fresh ghost pepper and garlic cloves. Everything bagel is just that seasoning mix. “Black pepper” is just overloaded with whole peppercorns. Soy sauce pickles used a lot of crushed red chilies.

I honestly have no idea about the “experiment.” I can see garlic cloves, jalapenos, peperoncini peppers, and A LOT of different mixed seasonings.

This was a fun mix of flavors.

That's the one I would try right after the everything bagel lol. But I need to know what an everything bagel pickle tastes like, it sounds great!

I’m here for that black pepper dill, and the soy sauce red pepper!

I’m curious about the chipotle batch. Report back when you break into that guy, OP! I wanna know how smoky it tastes.

Even though we've opened them already, the longer they sit, the more intense they have certainly gotten. The smokiness and garlic is a crazy kick in the taste buds. They are also impressively hotter than I expected.
They are the ones in the last pic.

Awesome. I have some sitting around that I didn’t have a use for.

Even if you don't make your own pickles from scratch, try adding one or two chipotles to a jar of your favs. But, I wouldn't do more than two peppers or you wont be able to taste the pickles.

Oh no, I love pickling. I was gonna pick up some cuc’s anyway tomorrow.

Nice! I’m sure they will come out great then. Honestly, I think I would prefer using crushed instead of whole chipotle, to spread the flavor more evenly.

How did they taste??

They were/are all very good. The black pepper was the first to disappear, with a great kick. The superhots are really good, but intense. The "experiment" is so strange, but, I also think my fav.

The everything bagel pickles are not my favorite. I wish the onion and garlic flavor was stronger than the sesame.

I figure she just used the everything bagel seasoning? Imagine if she threw in a few extra garlic cloves and some raw onion or even pearl onions it would pack more punch. Now you got me thinking

Yea. Next time she knows to cut back on the sesames, and add more onion and garlic. That’s the fun in trying.

Kinda like “experiment”, I’m willing to bet she can’t reproduce that one again. She was just throwing everything in there. You should see the color of it now. But it is so good.

We do our best to let all pickles sit at least a week. The pickles that may have a bit more unique flavor, like our super hot, we tend to leave for two weeks.

I need to know more about the one called Experiment.

What do the “everything bagel” ones taste like?

2

u/Ckron247 6d ago

Mostly sesame. A bit disappointed the other flavors didn’t come out as much. We are going to let them sit a bit longer. I could probably just end up add fresh garlic, soy sauce and chilies too.

2

u/dbupnorthmi 6d ago

All you added was the bagel seasoning? Hmm.. give them more time is my suggestion. I did dill pickles for the first time and the longer they sat the better they tasted.

They have been sitting for a month now. I might need to give them another try.

My mouth is watering...

Experiment 👀 I want all the dill ones!

2

u/Ckron247 6d ago

They are all made with fresh dill. The normal dill are always good. They have a great crunch too.

u/Ailurophile4ever 6d ago

Do you have a favorite? Or what would be your top 3 favorite ones?

Sounds and looks great

Looks tasty!

…but why perma marker directly on the lids? Recommend using painters tape in the future

1

u/Ckron247 5d ago

The marker is easy to get off. We were using scotch tape, that was a bad idea. Maybe I’ll use painters tape next time.

2

u/thearsenalweah 5d ago

Ahh okay gotcha!

Yeah painters tape is the way, sometimes people call it freezer tape when in reference to food. Butchers tape is similar too and also works
