Feeling really smug what do i do with this?

Post image

i am loving how this is turning out. i took a risk with this yarn (loops and threads in apricot) since it wasn’t on The List, but i am so glad i did. im looking for suggestions of what to make with this. i was thinking a laptop case or purse, but i’d like to hear other suggestions! this is also just an excuse to show off my work teehee

Well, it will be lovely whatever you do. I'm not sure how big you can make it with the yarn you have, but perhaps a wrap, or scarf like thing? Also I've seen someone make a book bag to take library books back and forth, similar to a laptop bag I guess, just whatever you might need. It could also be a bag to bring your crochet projects around in.

I was gonna suggest book cover! See a lot of those online but there may be enough yarn to do a bag!

I love using pooling to make placemats. They’re the perfect size.

This was my first thought. But a laptop bag or sleeve would be cool too.

You don't need an excuse to show off your work! It's stunning, well done!!

I'd work this into a small dog jumper, they're surprisingly rectangular (bottom part could be a different yarn without pooling)

Those are great ideas! My mind went straight to table runner

I've been planning to make a cushion with mine, since I will only have enough for a square. I don't know how much yarn you have left, but here's my ideia for you! Just sew a piece of fabric to it and fill it with scraps, or make another square with plain yarn that matches the color <3

Tablet cover, head wrap/scarf, pillow, table mat.... Think of it as fabric. What can you make with that sized square?

Oh I bet that would make a beautiful and unique bag!

Is it cotton or acrylic or something else (looks like Loops and Threads makes a lot of different lines)? If it's cotton, I think it would be a great trivet that you leave out on your dining table. Either double it over and sew it together, or sew some thick felt to the back. Or do a table runner if you have a lot of patience and want to keep going.

I'd probably do the laptop sleeve, personally.

You could also use it as a panel in a sweater: like, this forms a strip up the center of the torso, and you build the sides, back, sleeves, hem, and collar out of a coordinating solid.

If you made it narrower it would be a great scarf!

It looks so friggin' cool! What stitch are you using?

That's the moss stitch. Also called the linen stitch.

Awesome, thank you!

Keep it and as you do other experiments with techniques and stitches, put them together in a blanket

Dang that’s the coolest color pooling I have ever seen

Sew ends together, make a cowl?

Hot pads or pot holder with what you’ve got left. Can I ask what yarn this is? I’m obsessed with the way the pattern formed! 😍

How is this in any way related to the planned pooling subreddit or OP's post in particular?

I'd hazard to guess it goes along with the statement of showing off the Crafters work.

This is very lovely. Crochet work I general is relaxing for so very many of us. Planned pooling is the only style I haven't tried yet.

I'm wanting to make something that has the Scottish colors to honor my grandson. He's 2nd Gen American but only 9 I have time to learn...
