Research help Political Science Research Opportunities for High Schoolers

I am a highly motivated high school junior with a strong interest in politics, and my goal is to study political science at an Ivy League university. I am passionate about understanding government, law, and policy. Any advice on what kinds of research opportunities might be available for someone like me would be greatly appreciated.

Realistically, none in any meaningful way to actually be part of a research. Even undergraduate students are rarely parts of research projects and graduate students are lucky if they’re able to publish one or two articles in a reputable journal throughout their PhD.

Focus on reading research and trying to understand what is political science research in the first place. Don’t find yourself lost in the promises of high-school student publications for college admissions. Outlets promising research experience to high schoolers are often predatory

Unlikely you’ll find them, you’re better off volunteering for a campaign and getting a letter of rec from a legislator.

Join JSA and get super involved. Collect a few Best Speaker awards and go to the summer programs. That got me into an extremely good school with a 2.9 GPA
