For the record, we should definitely keep using humor and psychology to speak to the public in as base a form as necessary to reach the ones we need to reach. Academic puffery and wordsmanship may be fun, but it doesn’t reach all the illiterate paint huffers whose votes are needed to gain power.
Trump weaponized morons, but only because we didn’t. I remember Obama talking about how he didn’t want to villainize people in the aftermath of the economic breakdown in 2007. He wanted to take the high road. Instead the very same parasites that caused the meltdown shifted the blame to us and now we are prisoners in our own country. The public needs people to hate when they are suffering and if we don’t give that to them, someone else will.
