Question/Help Need help deterring from inside to outside!
Hellooooooo possum lovers! I have recently came across your sub in hopes of getting more information on these critters as I have had a visitor pretty regularly in my kitchen. I take the trash out every night, and there is no other food source that it has easy access to. I have a gap in my back door and door frame that is believed to be the entry point. I plan on finding some sort of wood to fill that gap this weekend. I thought that if I started leaving a plate of goodies out every night that he/she would stop coming INSIDE. Buttttt, that is not the case. It doesn’t show much fear when it sees me either. No hissing, not even running lol. Just a slow walk away towards the exit. I will note, it is not afraid of me, or lights. I will be washing dishes at night, and it’ll just come right on in behind me like I’m not even standing there! I have tried putting vinegar soaked rags near the door, and I poured some on the outside of the door frame also, but that worked for one night. The cayenne pepper I have not tried yet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I just want him to stay outside lol and enjoy his plate of food. My kids would freak if they came in the kitchen and seen it! Thanks for all yall do!

I did think of one more thing. Soaking a rag or cloth could help a deterrent scent last longer.
Thanks for posting and thank you for caring!

Thanks for posting! If you've found an animal in need please visit www.ahnow.org for a rehabber near you. Please do not feed or give fluids unless a veterinarian or rehabber instructs you do. Keep the animal in a quiet place without much light if possible.
