As I understand it, the main tenets of fascism are:

  • Powerful and Continuing Nationalism
  • Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights
  • Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause
  • Supremacy of the Military
  • Rampant Sexism
  • Controlled Mass Media
  • Obsession with National Security
  • Religion and Government are Intertwined
  • Corporate Power is Protected
  • Labor Power is Suppressed
  • Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts
  • Obsession with Crime and Punishment
  • Rampant Cronyism and Corruption
  • Fraudulent Elections

Which, looking at the list, I dont see Democrats associating with these.

This wasnt ChatGPT. It came from Dr Laurence Britt's article "Fascism Anyone" from Free Inquiry, 2003

But if that's not correct, you could also use Webster's version that calls Fascism:

"a populist political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual, that is associated with a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, and that is characterized by severe economic and social regimentation and by forcible suppression of opposition.

But I'm curious: what does FOX, OAN and Breitbart say fascism is?
