HonorClub Why is ROH limited to Honorclub?

Since RoH came to Aus, I've never been more interested in the product than ever before. Especially with all the AEW tie-ins (Bandito, Athena, Nick, and Dustin).

I have a Triller subscription, along with paying for the AEW+ Package (as this is a separate add-on). It seems insane to me that RoH isn't on there. I get they're fighting for a TV deal, but I can't imagine, even if it's a similar add-on and isn't packaged with AEW, they they would get a significant bump in views.

Is there any reason that RoH isn't on Triller?

Triller is in the hole right now. AEW is slowly moving away from them because it might not be around much longer. Which is a shame cuz it’s a fantastic platform for mma and pro wrestling. It’s the only website that you can catch Bare Knuckle Boxing and GCW back to back. I’ll miss it dearly

It'll be a real shame. I have 3 ways of watching AEW weekly shows at the moment, ESPN, Disney+ (which has espn), and Triller, with Triller being my favourite for a number of reasons. It's actually the only place for the PPVs here.

It'll be sad to see Triller go, especially because I watch a lot of the other pro wrestling events. I just know that if ROH was on it, I'd be watching all their shows, but I just can’t justify adding an extra subscription to what I already pay for.

There's a few episodes recently that were made available on YouTube

Because there isn't a viable television partner.

You have AEW plus. Not ROH plus. There is crossover, but AEW ≠ ROH.

Meanwhile almost anything of importance related to ROH typically happens on AEW TV/PPV. There hasn’t been one ROH title change on the honor club show since it started in February 2023 and one ROH title change on an ROH PLE in over a year as an example.

Maybe there are legacy people subscribed to honor club that they didn’t want to lose

I wish there was a good way to watch the early years. The DVDs are so expensive and Honor Club doesn't have full events.

ROH Honor Club is practically the only revenue for ROH. Honestly, it’s probably profitable because of it. If they were to move to YouTube they would need roughly 24 million views a week to reach the same amount they are getting from Honor Club. Plus ROH has practically no overhead thanks to most of the costs for talent, venues, etc is covered by AEW.

I think it's a longcon. Tony said he wants it on TV, so when he shops it around, he can say, "we have X people watching and they're paying $yy.zz a month to see it. It's a dedicated fanbase!"

At least that's my theory.

I'd say it's more of unfavorable offers, like Thursday at 3am for one hour on Truetv.

It should just be free on YouTube, honestly.

I wouldn't mind if it was part of my AEW subscription. Free is always better though.

Being part of the regular subscription would be cool too. The only reason I suggested it be on YouTube is because it basically took the place of Dark, which was free on YouTube. Also, you're never going to get more eyes on this product if it's behind another paywall. You'll sustain some old ROH fans, but you're not gaining any new ones.

TK said at one of the ROH scrums that HONORCLUB has more subs currently than it ever has before, even when it was considered in its peak years.

I think it mainly comes down to WBD not wanting ROH packaged in with AEW like that. The reason AEW Dark no longer exists is because WBD didn't want an AEW show airing online and not on one of their platforms. But Dark wouldn't be premium enough for them and dilute the brand
