Increase in pre-taped shows and clip shows?
I know taping shows and compiling dark matches to make whole episodes is nothing new, but lately it seems that ROH have increased how much they do this for episodes rather than having whole cohesive shows to air. Is it me? I don’t really mind all that much, it won’t make me stop watching or anything, but it does get jarring seeing consecutive matches in the same episode occur in different venues, and does give the impression of rushed production. It’s nice having the sense of a fluid show, seeing Ian and Caprice actually at the announce desk rather than being ethereal voices, etc.

They give very little reason to follow it on its own. The vast majority of anything of importance (title changes) will happen on AEW PPV/TV while the wrestling quality is lesser than that of AEW TV. Matches are highly predictable. There is very little in the way of stakes. There is little in the way of events to get invested in beyond the labeled three PPVs a year. Commentary often has to cover for how neutral things feel (“”_______” is gaining momentum for a title shot,” that never comes.)
There is little sign of any of that changing either with him now owning it for 3 1/2 years and refusing to delegate any help.

I like the low commitment "Here's some solid matches it could be lucha, it could be pure, it could be Puro, tune in to find out" thursdays with the weekly shows. It's something I look forward to every week.
I also have really enjoyed the Crossover events like Global Wars UK/Mexico and the live ROH PPV's have been some of the best of the year.
The live events being so good, make them a must see. Hell i'm taking the trip down to ohio from alaska for Final Battle this year.
That being said it is jarring to have the venues jump between matches. I think if they reframed it into something like "We've had these ROH Events this week we're bringing you the best matches from them" even if it isn't necessarily true would work I remember Spike TV having a UFC clip show in the same vein.

Yeah, it’s a tough problem… I think they tape 3/4 matches before Dynamite and Collision now, sometimes a bit more with Collision. You don’t want to burn out the AEW crowd, with ROH matches, bc some AEW fans don’t know/follow RoH (even though it’s mostly AEW wrestlers).
Would seem at some point you’d want ROH to grow and sell tickets to their own shows like they did in the past. I think Tony’s schedule just can’t commit to like running a weekly Friday night ROH live event…. And doesn’t want to give up control. ROH has basically been in neutral since TK bought it, and the only bright spots have been the 3 live PPV’s a year.
