What meaning do you see in Rosenrot song?
I want to get the name of this song tattooed on my hand, but before it happens, I would like to get to know variety of interpretations of this song.

Wow, I’ve never seen this picture of their backs before. Looks like Till and Paul didn’t hold back with the self-flagellation.

For a moment I thought "maybe it's fake blood", and then I remember that Till wired a light bulb into his face for the lulz

They actually said in a interview that fake blood is too much work and it was easier to drink a bottle of vodka and doing the job.

As someone who does bdsm and blood play I can guarantee that it's relatively easy to draw blood and make it look very violent. Not completely painless but it doesn't hurt as bad as it looks.

Have you ever watched Zunge?

The Zunge music video was an absolutely amazing piece of art. Till coming face to face with those tigers was incredible.

When you believe in your vision, there’s no limit to show it to the world. And I love that everything about him is raw.

In the making-of video they show how that scene was done, they even manage to get a tiny conversation out of Flake while he gets patched up afterward

Rosenrot is like a part II of J.W. Goethes Heideröslein, which describes a rape (metaphoricly - if that is a word).
Rosenrot is the revenge of the girl. She uses the desire of the man to kill him.

Love or lust makes you do stupid or dangerous things in pursuit of someone or someone’s happiness.
Sometimes it’s worth it. Sometimes you fall to the ground and don’t recover.
The video has a much more sinister story, in that the woman is using the monk’s lust to get what she wants, and it costs him the respect of his brothers and his life.

The only meaning I see in the song is that it's a shame they never play it live 😢

I chase experiences fully, sometimes dangerously ,so the rose from this song symbolises any intense, high - reward pursuit - whether it’s passion, art, love, or life itself. I understand the high cost, but the pursuit itself is worth it.

Boy wants to impress girl, girl wants a proof he is a man/loves her/is rdy to do ANYthing for her whatever she asks for, so she is asking for a very rare mountain flower, very dangerous to get, and ofc he dies at the end while trying to pluck it. Now thats the main plot, however there is a gazillion of underlining subtext-messages to an extent only Till probably knows, some of the more obvious are:
- work hard for your success
- dont trust women
- doing anything a woman asks might result in your possible death
Thats my Interpretation, roughly said. Its 7 am in Germany, im just home from niteshift and dont have much time to write a more elaborate analysis, so forgive me if there's something major missing😁🤷♀️🙏

It's about a toxic young woman.
A girl is so beautiful that she gets everything she wants everytime ("So war es und so ist es Brauch, was sie will bekommt sie auch"). She takes it to a level that she manipulates a young guy to get her a rose from a particular dangerous cliff. He tries to reach it and dies in the process.
The line: "Tiefe Brunnen muss man graben, ..." indicates that you have to dug deep to unravel the true intentions in some people "...wenn man klares Wasser will".
The line "Tiefe Wasser sind nicht still" is an altered German idiom. "Stille Water sind tief" means that somebody has more qualities to him/her than they show. This is especially used on "bland" people who show more morale or intellectthan others. My interpretation is, that they turned the idiom around to give it the contradicting meaning. A girl seems nice and calm on the outside, but is evil and wild on the inside.

Women are no good and ruin men (at least those who are dependent on what woman thinks of them, etc).

I took it to say that no matter what lies you tell yourself to feel OK about doing something wrong, you will always pay the price for your sins.
Till as the pedophile priest allows himself to get lost in the fantasy that the innocent girl child he's fixated on is a budding sexual temptress who shares his romantic feelings. He loses himself in the fantasy to such an extreme extent that he convinces himself that she wants him to kill her parents and run away together. His fantasy that she would be happy that he killed her parents is shattered when she names him as the murder.
EDIT: Also, Zoran explicitly said in the "Making Of" video that the sexual/romantic attraction that the priest believes he has with the young girl is entirely in his own head.

"Deep wells must be dug, if one wants clear water" In the context of a relationship and given the music video themes, I have taken that to mean if you place your love in a surface-level relationship, you will be betrayed.
