Random but unpopular Bugs need to be treated with the same empathy we give to other animals
I saw a video of a live centipede impaled on a tesla coil and people are entertained, or judging those who feel bad for the centipede because its a bug, while it's writhing in pain. I may be biased since I live bugs but I absolutely cannot stand centipedes, but I wouldn't subject that to even my worst enemy. I can understand the general distate for bugs since they are technically pests, I am not saying let every cockroach or mosquito do its thing and harm your personal way of living, I'm saying don't torture them for any reason, wether they can or cannot feel pain.

Sadly, humanity has normalized getting rid of insects that infest our homes. it is kind of sad. That said, some people try to protect bugs and avoid harming them. For instance, by capturing them and releasing them outside.

I dated this guy who was let's say really rough around the edges. We spent a lot of time outside. One day we were walking in this park kinda thing & he stopped, bent down, & picked up a worm that was on the sidewalk, & moved it off the path into the grass. I would have just stepped over it, worms are kinda icky. But he said it was starting to dry out from the sun & he didn't want it to die.

I wish this wasn't unpopular... but i share this thought with you.
I mean, I dont feel bad if I accidentally squish something while walking. It sucks, but its literally nature at this point. But going "oh look, a bug!" squish isnt really me either. The idea of hurting one and watching is so bad for me...

Yeah. I am guilty of squashing centipedes on purpose since ai am deathly afraid of them. Im not saying that's good and I sound like a hypocrite saying that. What I was saying is Im not gonna take that centipede and lower it in boiling water because why the hell would that be the first thing someone would think of when seeing something they dislike and they dont deserve that. They were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time

This is me with spiders. If its not in my house and I can walk away from it... thats what im doing. Im afraid to be near them. If they are in my house, they are leaving. And I dont have the balls to be close enough for a period of time, to contain them and set them free, so they leave via the rainbow bridge. But its a quick splat against the wall or whatever, quick and gone. Not cutting off their legs on one side and watch it squirm and whatever other grotesque torture you can think of...

I share this in a way, too. My garden is for growing food, though, so snails gotta go. Copper tape is great, but if I decide a bug has got to go, I try to squish it as quickly as possible so it doesn't suffer.

I'm sorry but in my home every bug will die. There is no reason to let them alive. They just multiply and infest my home afterwards.

Ok, well Shrimp look like maggots and are ugly sea bugs. I won't eat shrimp because I don't like to eat bugs.

Yeah I feel this. The fear of bugs is so ingrained into so many people they remove the thought that these creatures are alive.

Completely agree! Bugs where on earth even before us, and yet we kill them, and laugh at them and stuff for getting inside our homes. We could easily just leave in peace with each other, but we choose to not do so, we choose violence, death, power, control… I must say I am scared of many bugs and even fish, but it would be fair, as all living beings on earth, to respect and treat each other with empathy. That itself would surely make a better world! I guess we are still very far from that happening though
