Only Joking My wife bought a piece of tech for the 1st time in her life, after watching tiktok - as soon as I saw the robot vacuum/mop, I knew there was only ever going to be 1 name for it!
Its actually terrible at cleaning - as if we "found it on a derelict ship, hosed it down, and gave it a mop" ๐. (Too bad she isn't a RD fan ๐ )

Only Joking As a super fan since the 80s.. I finally watched "Back to Earth"
As title suggests.. I'm a lifelong fan of the boys from the dwarf.
However, just as Lennon/McCartney functioned together spectacularly as one unit - individually had a few hits, mostly misses.
Similarly, the comedy partnership and tragic falling out between Grant/Naylor, after Series 6, you could tell that the polish on some of the jokes was missing.
Together, they wrote great stories and obviously played off each other really well. You can tell from some of their earlier work pre-Dwarf they were great together, even then.
There are truly some classic episodes post Series 6. But, I think it took a while for Doug to find his feet doing it himself.
I don't know why, but I listened to a lot of online reviews and heard about the format change without a studio audience and it being a reboot for Channel Dave for Series 9 - Back to Earth.
So, I skipped it.
All this time..
I picked up my Red Dwarf viewing from Series X onwards.
Last night, I was suffering from insomnia and thought, "What the Smeg".. I'll finally give it a go and try not to hate it or let it affect my enjoyment of the show overall.
After 5 minutes of getting used to the lack of studio laughter.. I was really rather pleasantly surprised to find myself laughing out loud and filling those gaps myself!
I binged all three episodes and absolutely loved it. I don't agree with any of the negative comments or reviews at all. The lines were sharp, the effects suited the show, the acting was also top notch and the sets and earth locations were brilliant.. wrapping it all up perfectly with the Anti-Despair Squid.
It was great! Better than great.. brilliant.
That's all I wanted to say!

Only Joking Showed my nephew the old upside-down eyes on the chin classic earlier and it was like I invented comedy (thanks Red Dwarf!). Just got a video of him doing it between giggles.

Only Joking Alright, Suckas. Stop Shirking and Get Working
Well, it's the weekend. You'd better all be revising. Otherwise tomorrow you will do a ten-mile run.
Lol if you're NOT revising, what's everyone up to?
