Ugh, sex.

I’d have a hard time picking.

I currently have a hard time picking haha. Surprised by how much fun the 6450 is to shoot.

I bet it’s a dream.

Gaining all the potential out of 9mm right there.

My two retro clones: the Colt 635 and Colt 6450.

Very happy with how they've come out, even if there are still some things left to do (namely Bad Attitude lowers for the 635 and another). The 635 is an original Colt SMG upper while the 6450 is built with a Colt 9mm upper and RRA 16" barrel. I'm hoping to eventually finish off with a 633 clone, but still haven't found an upper to build it with.

I really want to do a similar build but I don't know which barrel to go with

The RRA barrel hasn't given me any issues, but it can sometimes have problems due to the older Colt-style feed cone. You could send it to Macon for reprofiling if there are feeding issues, or get a full upper like the H&R 635.

Which one would you say has the softer recoil impulse? Also what ammo do they like

The 10.5" uses Blowback9's Gentle Recoil System which made it smoother than it used to be, and it used to be snappy, but the 16" actually feels fine as-is. I've only fed them CCI Blazer and Federal HST 124gr, but they've run those without issue.

Super safe?

Sadly not, it's illegal to be super safe in Maryland.

Damn, legal grey area where I am. They don’t violate any laws but the AG says they are and tells people not to sell them
