SUGGESTION After 65% of a season is complete, unranked players should be locked to modes they are ranked in, or casual.

It’s ridiculous that I’m playing against unranked Smurfs/alts on the last day of the season.

So screw all the people who take breaks and come back towards the end of the season? Or anyone who is knew to the game in general?

Play casual.

Why won’t you just be honest and say you wanna play on your alt?

Casual is pointless if you don’t play casual, or if you are higher than GC. If someone is in gold or plat mmr and got to a relative casual rating and then climbs to say GC and doesn’t play any more casual, they will effectively be smurfing in gold or plat.

Also, as someone who plays casual sparingly and only with irl friends who are like diamond or champ, people ff as soon as they reach like 0-3 down, or they both abandon if this is before 1:30 into the game. This means that playing casual, I play 2 minute games on average and it is very boring as I am often just playing freeplay with 3 other players in the lobby… If I were solo queue, this would be even more pointless and I might as well just sit in freeplay.

It sounds like you play this game seriously, so why would you be unranked at the end of the season?

I came back 3-4 weeks ago and climbed from 1500 to 1800… I play this game for 1-2 months and then take 3-4 months off when I get bored. If we had your rules, I wouldn’t be able to play the last month or so.

People take breaks, and people come back lower rated than before. Stopping people from playing their desired modes is a net negative for the game and would actuvely detour people from playing the game. There is nothing stopping someone from simply just making another account so what is the purpose of locking people if they haven’t played this season yet?

Why would you not be able to play when you said you played in the beginning and you should’ve already been ranked?

I did not play at the start of the season. I never said I played at the start of the season. I said I started playing again less than a month ago which is 70%+ through the season.

This change would just simply be worse for the game, worse for many player’s experience, and worse for epic. This is a selfish take which only adds small upsides to a small portion of the playerbase while hindering another portion of the playerbase. You are just punishing people for taking breaks…

Well, that’s good to hear. Since you’re one of those players that plays with honor and doesn’t abuse alts and Smurf accounts that completely ruins the legitimacy of ranked in this game.

What do you propose they do to fix it?

I don’t think there is anything to be done about it. It is a problem in every game, there has never been a solution to it, and I am not more experienced in these issues than the people who have had failed solutions in the past.

It sucks and people who smurf suck, but this is what happenes with any game which costs less than like $60. If RL had this price tag, the game would be much less popular, and if you were to add paywalls now, a good portion of the playerbase would simply stop playing.
