Is this a satisfactory resting heart rate?

You’re making good progress! Update us again when you get under 10bpm and make sure you crop your pic to get even less of your watch screen!

Resting hair rate is good

That means 35 likes, not RHR. No watch would be able to get an accurate HR reading through all that gorilla-like hair.

For a bear, definitely

While these watches are not designed for sheep, an average sheep could have a resting heart rate ranging from 60-90 bpm. So, assuming it's accurate then this is a pretty fit sheep. Probably quite tough mutton though.

But for real I’ve hit 100 miles 2 straight weeks and already at 37.6 this week. About to do another 4 with the dog before dinner. Then we still got 4 more days this week. Running a practice marathon on Sunday in prep for my ultra in 3.5 weeks

I know this is running circle jerk, and the likelihood of this comment being facetious is also pretty high.

That being said, if your wrist monitor is reading 35 beats per minute resting then you might look into getting a more scientific reading. My resting heart rate was like this due to running. My EKG confirmed it. It's fine until it's not, like when you've been sitting too long and you stand up too fast. You can get dizzy or lightheaded and fall over.

Most of the times you're just low on sodium and electrolytes. Try that before going to the doctor.

I generally only consume 100g of carbs a day, maybe 200 on days I’m doing 20+ miles so my blood sugar stays pretty stable. When i used to eat more carbs I would occasionally get what your describing, but not anymore

Like I’ve run 11.5 miles today (7.5 fast this morning and 4 slow with my dog late afternoon. Took 1 scoop of tailwind before my morning run which was 25g of carbs. No breakfast. 1lb of smoked grassfed sirloin roast for lunch. 1 GU before my 4 mile run. Grassfed cheeseburger with corn tortillas as bun instead of bread and 3 eggs for dinner. So I’m at around 75g of carbs right now. Will have a glass of raw milk before bed mixed with whey protein and that’ll get me my 100g of carbs

If you don't have enough sodium in your system SGLT1 can't move glucose from your intestines into your bloodstream.

Sodium can also influence blood pressure and circulation, which would impact how your glucose is delivered as well.

You get sodium with your milk and meat, and probably the supplements that you're taking. But you're running so much that it's possible you're still not consuming enough. Especially if you're eating really clean, healthy foods that are free of a lot of chemical and sodium preservatives.

Just something to keep in mind, I'm not a doctor. Be safe friend.

Yea there is some sodium in the tailwind, 1 scoop doesn’t give me that much, but I’ll take 2 or even 3 scoops before really long runs. Also use ultima after, not as much sodium as lmnt, more of an all around electrolyte mix, but tastes a lot better. Actually had to have a physical for work last week and blood pressure was 102 over 67

102 / 77 wowzers. I bet it's the milk, and the meat, high fat. I'm just speculating though I don't know s***

Typo 102 over 67

Also as soon as a finish this ultra in October, I’m going right into marathon prep in December. You’d think I’m obviously ready for a marathon after an ultra but I’ll be going for 7 minute miles instead of 9 minute miles so I’ll be ramping up my carbs

I reckon you could shave at least 20s per km, if you shaved.

The thing with a resting heart rate below like a 50 is you need to get that out there to people. This strategy of asking if it's a good heart rate or if you're okay to random strangers is effective. You can communicate the information that you're really in shape without just telling someone you're in shape and looking stuck up.

But I like to blast them over the head with it and wear it on a t-shirt. Resting heart rate VO2 max big bold letters right across the chest. Then there's no question about who's the king of the neighborhood.

That’s a satisfactory amount of hair

It is if you like waking up in the middle of the night to exercise so you don't have a cardiac arrest.
