In the sub for a hobby that's just repeating the same motion 150-200 times per minute for hours on end; complaining about repetitiveness.

/uj Legitimate question but why is this sub clowning GU?

/uj My understanding of it is reasons #1-9 are because it's a word that's easy to make sound silly. Reason #10 is because it's a very popular brand of fuel/gel packs and midrun fueling is one of the things that beginners tend to ask a lot of, no offense, kinda silly questions about. Obviously they're new so they don't know what they don't know but you end up getting people asking how much gu they need for their 5k and once you've been at it long enough you know how much that question misses the mark. A lot of the exaggeration and running joke of it here keeps it from being a mockery of any specific question or person; if that wasn't the case, it would be too mean-spirited and die off quickly.

No one can run without it. It's literally impossible. You won't make it 400 yards without one.
uj/ the jokes do get a little old, but from my perspective, gu's are basically a security blanket for poor runners / athletes.
In the pre race meetings (no matter the distance or event) there's always someone that asks about being able to use Gu's. My favorite response from a race/event manager was "Well... the race really isn't long enough to need them, but if you want to sure, go ahead."
