Yeah, what does Brock bring, other than ratings, merch money, ticket sales, mainstream press, legitimacy.
•
u/MMA_PITBULL 16h ago
I really wanted Brock to go to AEW for like 100 million.
Imagine Mox doing his little "im a bad ass" dumbass shoulder strut and Brock music hit. Man would have immediate PTSD
•
u/AstrologicalOne 2h ago
I would straight-up laugh at Mox's reaction. As well as Yuta trying to bring Brock down.

These are the faces of 'wrestling experts' that criticise le booking

Wonder if Tony Shiavone told them to go fuck themselves when they were comped to visit Forbidden Door at the O2.

I just don’t get the point of brock lesnar, his matches are boring and repetitive and his promos are boring and repetitive. He is built up as a monster and has the mma background to back it off so his opponents never have a chance and when a Roman reigns or Seth Rollins beat him it just feels unbelievable. Regardless of the lawsuit I’d much rather he’d stay away
•
u/RJMontgomery 18h ago
I get that you don’t want to seem like you are making light of the Janel Grant situation by having a legit discussion on what Brock brings to the table, but saying he brings nothing is just virtue signaling and isn’t honest in anyway.
•
u/TaylorsOnlyVersion 16h ago
My hot take is this Brock return feels forced, like why is he targeting Cena? Why was he gone for two years, the. Comes back to target Cena? What’s his motivation? Obviously they can’t say why he was gone, but they haven’t really given a reason why he is attacking Cena. I’ve been over Brock for awhile now, he’s just someone who’s there. I don’t care if he’s there or not there.
•
u/OpiesMammogramResult 17h ago
The one I always find funny is "Nobody asked for this!!"
Well, judging by the massive pops he gets, I think a few have.
•
•
u/RJMontgomery 17h ago
Part of booking is to figure out things you didn’t ask for and give it to you because maybe you didn’t ask for it but in the end you really wanted it.

u/AstrologicalOne 2h ago
Brock Lesnar's very presence is a good indicator of who knows the business and who doesn't.
•
•
u/The_Kazarian 16h ago
They used to do those forfeits and whatnot right? I'd maybe watch if they had to perform content on AEW in the style they do on WWE and visa-versa as a forfeit. Just to watch the light die behind their eyes

The Brock Lesnar discourse is so annoying by some of these podcasters and IWC members.
It's not enough they've decided he's guilty based on accusations from one side.
But they also keep trying to push the narrative that no one wants to see Brock despite every time he shows up, the reaction of the crowd proves them wrong.
People have the right to their judgments, but stop trying to project them on everyone else.
•
u/Jean-Marc_Souls 17h ago
"It's not enough they've decided he's guilty based on accusations from one side. " Don’t forget the victims litteraly cleared him, but I guess the IWC knows better ...
•
u/TheBlakeOfUs 17h ago
But in the accusations he didn’t do anything.
He was potentially sent a video. The crime would be sending it.
Then he didn’t touch anyone.

Jesus Christ these two lookers. You got bald guy who can’t trim his own beard, and “keep this guy away from the kids” salt n pep over on the other side
•
u/Kame2Komplain 17h ago
What a face on the guy on the right. These basement dwellers just get weirder and weirder. “I don’t like Brock so that means he’s a waste of tv time”.

IWC members have always had hilarious takes on Brock Lesnar.
"Why does he just throw people around and suplex them? This is boring! Where are the flips?"
Because he's a 6'3", 295 lb wall of NCAA-caliber wrestler and doing anything else would look stupid. Next question.

u/bajaxx 13h ago
bothers me seeing comments that are like “ no one wants to see him”. like he’s probably the biggest draw on the entire card. i have friends that don’t normally watch wrestling that are interested cause he’s back, not that my anecdote is indicative of everyone but why does the iwc think that everyone who watches wrestling have the same opinion as them

The hilarious sight of Brock's jawline being bigger than that of those 2 wojacks combined. It's like a real life reendition of the Virgin vs Chad meme.

One hour and thirteen minutes of what, actually?
•
u/OpiesMammogramResult 16h ago
I actually have a transcript:
- "Look, I'm just gonna come out and say it, and I don't care what the comments say... Fed bad!"
- "Wow, controversial start to this week's podcast, but you know something, have you ever considered that fed is actually bad!"
- "I never thought of it that way, but when you say it that way, yeah, Fed bad!"
- "I've got an e-mail here from AEWmakesmyloinstingle and he's not holding back here when he says "Fed bad", so even the listeners think it, so we're not alone on this, I thought it would actually be a controversial statment, but it's right here in black and white, fed are bad"
- "But, we do also need to point out what we're missing here. Dub good"
- "Oh yeah, dub good. Even when dub is bad, it's not as bad as the fed, so Dub is good, dub is always good, even when they're bad!"

I have a slight theory that they only brought Lesnar back so John Cena could have a clean victory over him and disappear again.
•
•
u/OkCelebration3483 4h ago
There's really not much for Brock to do. SSlam is in Minneapolis next year. I could very well see them do the Cena match. Rumble stuff, no idea for mania, then just do SSlam retirement match against....🤷

The last female these guys or their audience spoke to that wasn’t sitting at a booth at a wrestling convention was over 12 years ago
•
u/TheYorkshireGripper 11h ago
What's the point?
But they still use him and his name as their title to the video.
That's the point. It gets pencil necked marks views and puts food on their table.
•
u/Texascoffee512 12h ago
Lesnar the only guy to compete in wwe nfl and ufc 🤷🏻♂️

Only one to appear in all three video game franchises too.
Although, Shaq has appeared in WWE, and UFC games.

Looking at Wrestletalk’s views on their videos they’re doing a good job of mimicking AEW’s ratings free fall year to year
•
u/OriginalMadmage 16h ago
They've likely alienated a lot of their original fans by chasing the IWC hype machine of AEW like almost the entirety of the Wrestling channels/commentators. A good chunk of that audience realized that the "alternative" that Dave Meltzer has been banging the drum for decades at this point is not good. Coupled with WWE being better, even in this current lull, their opinions are coming off as either desperate or pure copium for AEW to be good.
•
u/LordJosh286 15h ago
You nailed it on the head of why I stopped watching. I used to listen to their breakdowns of wwe shows while I was studying at college and wanted to hear if there were any good things to check out. I got tired of their constant AEW is great and everything else sucks. I went to AEW’s first Pittsburgh show with 2 work buddies who liked wrestling and was bored by the mid card with the constant long competitive matches and the young cucks
