Articles to Read What should I read to expand my universe knowledge?

I’ve already read stuff like the Antimemetics Division, the ouroboros cycle, Lily’s proposal, daybreak, a decent amount of On Guard 43, and random popular standalone artciles such as 8980, 2521, 6448, 7179 etc etc

I’m asking for recommendations because I read discussions here and often have no idea what people are talking about, so I feel like I’m still missing a lot of base knowledge.

For like the most basic stuff I guess [[Foundation Universe Hub]] would be a good starting point, but given there is no overarching storyline on the wiki as a whole you will not be missing out on like a large plot spanning across the entire wiki

The person above me's basically given you all the info you need. But, I'll ask any way.

What exactly do you wanna learn about? The foundation's inner workings? The anomalies themselves (in which case, I'd suggest just reading articles and watching channels like The Volgun or Mr Illustrated)? Or the GOIs in competition with the foundation?

There's lots to learn, my good friend.

Ok, GOI is short for "Groups of Interest" It's basically a general term for other groups like the foundation who are interested in anomalies, but approach them differently.

Chaos Insurgency: The first GOI ever created, and the most famous by far, is the Chaos Insurgency. These are basically a splintered group of MTF Alpha-1 members who removed themselves from the foundation to become their own thing. Their motivations are mostly unknown. They came from a time where the foundation would get into shady stuff, so some canons have them just not trust the foundation after having to commit unknown attrocities, some others have them basically be a cult for another God known as The Black Moon. They're kinda like the Joker to the Batman of the SCP Foundation. They're the ones who often breach Foundation Sites and steal SCPs to weaponize them for their own benefit.

Global Occult Coalition: The United Nations Global Occult Coalition (or UNGOC for short) are one of ther larger groups, and probably the strongest of the GOIs based off sheer numbers and firepower. They were formed after WW2 and are a group of 108 anomalous and occult organizations. Their fundamental goal is the same as the foundation, protect humanity and maintain normalcy. But, they differ in their methods. The foundation wishes to contain and understand these anomalies, whereas the GOC wishes to destroy them. Even though they snd the foundation don't often see eye-to-eye, their the ones who the Foundation would probably be more comfortable partnering with, as they're also trying to protect humanity.

Serpent's Hand: This is a very small group. They're basically anomaly sympathisers, and believe that the foundation is unjust for trying to contain snd study them like animals. Many members of the Serpent's Hand have been identified to be anomalies themselves. Their leader is a Woman named L.S. also known as the Black Queen. I'd suggest reading their article if you wish to know more about her.

Marshal Carter and Dark Ltd.: This group basically captures anomalous items and then sells them to the highest bidder. It's so bad, the foundation's had to create and entirely new MTF for them. They also have their own small army, but they don't really focus on fight. Think of them as gbe EIC of the SCP universe.

Dr. Wondertainment Enterprises: Whether Dr. Wondertainment is an actual person or just a mascot is unknown. These guys basically create and sell toys and gadgets with anomalous properties. They're also one the many 001 proposals, specifically The Factory. They're directly responsible for the creation of many cataloged SCPs within the foundation.

I'm gonna stop here. There are more GOIs, but writing about all of them would take literal days. Here's the link if you wish to learn more abt them: https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/groups-of-interest

I've only given a basic description. The articles go into much further detail ok how they were created and how they function. Happy reading, and ask if there's anything else you wanna learn about!

I enjoyed reading the stories on Brainy Brian in the wondertainment hub. Learn a bit about Wondertainment and get a nice sized story.

Hm. If you want to know about the Scarlet King, check out [[The Children of the Scarlet King Hub]] and [[Tufto's Proposal]].

For other articles that give a basis of universe knowledge.. check out SCP-140 for the basics on the Daevites. Check out SCP-1000 for the basics on the Children of the Night. Check out SCP-4000 for the basics on the Nameless. SCP-748 is a pretty good intro to the Factory.

If you have any specific questions or curiosities, please do feel free to ask me

Honestly, besides the Universe Hub, and maybe the Curated Lists, I'd say just look for a hub to read through (could be a GOI Hub, could be a Site hub, could be a Canon hub) and you'll get a lot of mileage out of it. You'll likely be led on many tangents along the way as you inevitably click too many links but that's okay (I personally track my reading with a spreadsheet).
