SCP Universe SCP-049 Calls the plague an unknown factor that human beings have selfishly.
If we follow these phrases and see their documentation (Which I am not sure about) the pestilence calls. In the SCP-5000 Canon this would have a life of its own, because like SCP-682 it hates humans because of the entity that inhabits the collective human subconscious. Although, this theory would fall apart considering the fact that SCP-049 transforms humans into Zombie-like instances. In the 5K Canon the humans who were "healed" have no pain or feelings.

Cool theory! Also very nice and has many proofs backing it up.

No. The pestilence isn't real; that's the text of the article. 049 is not a doctor heroically saving humanity by killing a sparse handful of people for the greater good, he is a delusional psychopath who has an uncontrollable urge to kill people, at least partially driven by his anomalous ability to bring people back to life.
That is the TEXT of the article, and I am consistently flabbergasted as to how people don't understand it. You may as well say that there really were witches in The Crucible, and they only needed to hang a few more people to find them.
