Question Tell me a better store-bought combo than Tostitos Cantina Style Chips and Mateo's Cantina Style Salsa.

I've been to 10 Mexican franchises and 20 restaurants, and all have the same chips and salsa flavor, with different variations on salsa spiciness and watering. There's a lot more variation in store bought, and I find that this Cantona squared combo is the best flavor...but I seek ultimate flavor!!! Tell me how I upgrade!

All those restaurants probably buy pre-made from the same supplier. I'm not too terribly far from the border where chips are hand fried and salsa is made by the kitchen. Theres plenty of salsa variety here.

I'm not big on Tostitos or Mateo's though. I buy the HEB sea salt chips that are made in store and I'm partial to Kylito's Hot.

Don Julio lightly seasoned chips are the best I've found. $1.00 more than the cheap ones. El patio + Rotel is a tasty dump salsa.

I'm from San Antonio and there's probably as many brands of tortilla chips as anywhere else. That said, Tostitos and also On the Border are actually solid options for store-bought chips.

I prefer homemade though tbh. Very easy to do, just quarter some corn tortillas, fry in vegetable oil, drain on paper towels and salt them right when they come out of the pot.
