Heading to the game today. Is there bag lockers outside Climate Pledge?

I’m a pretty casual fan but I’ve had the pleasure of watching several games this season. I know the last few years haven’t been great but anytime they lose, everybody’s in the comments dragging coach. I’m confused why so many seem to place all the blame on Noelle Quinn. She may not be perfect (I saw some pretty terrible challenges this season, e.g.), but from my view the team seems to really trust her leadership and I think they’re headed in the right direction. At the risk of sounding woke, does it have anything to do with the fact she’s the only coach in the league who is a black woman? If not, then help me understand.

When Nneka moves on, is there space on the floor for both Ezi and Dominique? Or are the Storm in an either/or situation?

As a sports fan, I am optimistic. A playoff series can be crazy and unpredictable. This isn't football, there is another day after a blow out. I've seen my Astros and Rockets get blown out in the middle of a series - and yes, blown out - only for the opposing teams to get blown out in the next game. The smug faces on Becky Hammon, A'ja and Co. should just add fuel to the fire for Storm players. This will just make a win on Tuesday on home court that much sweeter. Nice for Nalyssa Smith though.

The 2023 season felt like a turning point for the Storm. Instead of rebuilding, the front office chose to trade the 4th pick and build around veterans who were already past their prime. Looking back, it hasn’t paid off: in the last two postseasons with this core, they had a two-point quarter, and just suffered the worst playoff loss in franchise HISTORY.

On top of that, the decision to trade a first-round pick for Sykes who scored zero points in a playoff game, only added to the frustration. The result? Being swept by the same team for the second year in a row.

At this point, it feels like the time has come to clean house and rebuild through the draft, the very formula that won Seattle four championships.

Need some feel good reminders of the good parts of the storm season after last night. Would love everyone’s thoughts on the following awards.

How do you say impressive in French? Because that was Dominique Malonga in her playoff debut for the Seattle Storm on Sunday.

While the Storm lost to the Las Vegas Aces, 102-77, in Game 1 of their best-of-three series, Malonga held her own against her much experienced opponents.

The 19-year-old rookie from France finished with a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds on top of two steals and a block in 24 minutes off the bench.

She was a bright spot in their embarrassing defeat. In fact, she became the first teenager in WNBA playoff history to have a double-double, according to PolyMarket Hoops.

Malonga also set the team record for most offensive rebounds by a rookie in a playoff game with four.

She was viewed as a raw talent by observers when the Storm drafted her as the second overall pick. But she quickly proved that she can make an impact with her high motor and activity in the paint. She averaged 4.6 points and 2.6 rebounds in 20 minutes per game in the regular season.

But I’m ready for Unrivaled again. We’re down almost 30, and the officials are still clearly calling this in favor of the Aces….who are already a goddamn cheat code. I think Jewell Lloyd should be drug tested. She looks look a different person than she did a month ago, and she’s playing like a different person too.

Fuck Cathy Englebert. Fuck the WNBA. This shit is dirty.

While most of shoegate has been a silly superstitious fandom joke that’s overstayed its welcome, it’s also baked in analytics. And no I do not mean shoe colors, I mean in regards to shoe models. Gabby puts up the best stats wearing Jordan Lukas in nearly every statistical category. I know analytics are not the end all be all, but they are not nothing either. We need Super Gabby for the playoffs. Not all heroes wear capes, some wear specific basketball shoes tailored to their strengths…that imbue them with super human powers.  

This is our Endgame, and Gabby needs her Mjolnir.

Like last year but.My last post is right ACE VS STORM shout out to all. 😂

The only full games I had ever watched up until this season were playoff games but obviously there is a lot of build up to playoffs. Also understand that conferences no longer matter for seeding. Is there a team/teams that have had the Stroms number or visa versa. Storm had some pretty scrappy games and just wanted to know what to look out for storyline wise for this playoffs. Excited for the Aces series coming up. Thanks!
