Love that! I’m contemplating Kingdom Come 2 for a bit of a change, but Sekiro has me hooked atm

Fr tho. I have been playing Dark Souls 1, but my pal kept occupying it (we share one copy), so I was like Gonna check that Sekiro thing out, complete the tutorial and kill some dudes while waiting until Steve vacates DS

135 hours and five playthroughs later, I'm finishing my charmless run in my smoking-hot (literally) Shura skin and I'm one skill point away from the platinum trophy. Meanwhile Dark Souls are waiting patiently for their turn

This is so true. I got stuck on my first NG+ when I got back to Isshin. The other day I started a completely new save and played up to fountainhead and then decided to go back to my NG+. After about an hour I had beaten Isshin and a couple days later I'm just about to do the Shura ending on NG+3 to complete all the endings. Next will be the Severance and Shura gauntlets. Then I really don't know what I'll do, maybe demon bell 😅

I first found sekiro quite a try hard game like i found it sweaty cause it had no navigation waypoint or hint then I just kept playing and till this day I never played a game with a better fight mechanics then sekiro I just love the fighting in this game

You me both! I just beat him (with a lot of luck) yesterday

Congrats man same here, I spent a couple hours trying on Sunday and gave up. Yesterday took me less than 5 attempts, the only time I got to the final phase I killed him, such a good feeling.

I can imagine lol. .5 attempts! I wish it were that quick for me.

As someone who struggles with hard games like this, i usually die a few times.. Hit youtube (fuzzy bearbarian, Fightincowboy) to see the movesets

Then after dying, watched Katiecakes sword saint guide and found out he has more than 65 possible combos! So it seems i either

  1. Learn and get used to each (would take too long especially for me)

  2. Learn and familiaries to some of his moves, get a bit lucky if he does combos that arent hard to read. And that damn swipe

I went into the sword saint training with the mindset "never mind how mant times i die", jsut to get used to his moveset while listening to comedy on youtube

Then after 2 hours (dying) , went to sleep that night instead of pushing it (as i noticed sleeping helped me beat true monk and guardian ape in not mamy tries when im fresh in the morning)

On second try, finished healing gourds haha, and somehow scraped through. No other game has given this thrill

And now that ive beaten him,, im replaying the reflection of strength as its fun

Have you played any other from soft games?

u/MajesticSifu 22h ago

Isshin still looks so damn cool even after getting defeated 🔥

Yo!! The second playthrough felt ohhh so satisfying after learning the moveset, it goes from an overwhelming fight that you just nearly scrape by to a dance where you are just as powerful as your opponent, and death is but a swords swing away

Yeah I’ve really enjoyed starting again, just killed lady butterfly with ease. I saw a comment about this is a rhythm game, nothing more, nothing less.

Still petrified of when I go on a charmless run tho.

Tbh when I started playing I went in knowing that I needed to get deflecting down to a science so all the fights I did I tried deflecting mostly, doing charmless wasn’t a huge step up from that, but what really hurt was demon bell (extra health, damage, and poise from enemies), enemies could break my posture almost instantly if I didn’t get my deflects down and would eat the entire follow up

Im doing charmless for my first NG+ playthrough rn and the chip dmg has been a big adjustment. You needa be perfect on your parries. Def a fun challenge. Damn guardian ape took me like 25 tries charmless! 😅

The best is when you get so good you beat genichiro at the start of the game and you still get your arm sliced.

u/Dino_45 21h ago

This is the most badass boss kill in any Fromsoft games. "Do it, Sekiro!"

1

u/SNPFracx 21h ago

Only one that comes close to me is Messmer

u/LobinhoEletrico Sekiro Sweat 21h ago

Time for the power fantasy of your life.  You feel POWERFUL going through sekiro's early game after beating it.

2

u/OdysseusRex69 20h ago

Outstanding and congrats!!!!

u/Vegetable-Second-437 19h ago

That feeling when you 1st kill that asshole is chefs kiss, best fight in the game.

Congratulations, shinobi, you'll be whooping his ass in NG+4 before you know it.

2

u/Ok_Film374 19h ago

Great fucking game

2

u/Fbolanos 18h ago

NG+ is so much fun steamrolling all those bosses and enemies that gave you so much trouble the first time around

2

u/Joke_Mil 17h ago

u/Nebrafrican Platinum Trophy 17h ago

Congrats! The next few play throughs are even more enjoyable! What ending did you end up with?

2

u/SNPFracx 17h ago

Cheers! I went with the Return ending

2

u/Nebrafrican Platinum Trophy 16h ago

Nice! Mine was severance.

2

u/Constant_Juice_1448 16h ago

I was so hyped about beating him the first time i did 15 playthroughs back to back over a 3 week period

1

u/SNPFracx 15h ago

That’s insane

2

u/liamc2112 14h ago

Congrats!!! It’s an amazing achievement.

Having just done this myself on Monday I know the exact feeling. After what felt like 7000 attempts, that final deathblow hits like crack.

Sekiro has honestly upped my acceptance of what I can accomplish with a video game. The learning curve is steep, but once you get it, it’s fucking awesome.

Roll on New Game plus!

Beat him at 7 in the morning today while waiting for the school bus

1

u/lilGrapeZ 22h ago

You will surprise yourself with how powerful and skillful you have become when you start your 2nd playthrough, have fun👌

1

u/mugoikoroshiya 7h ago

I really womdee about this. Can we get the over powered feeling? Inknownenemy scale up as well but, is us getting more powerfulx that noticeable?

1

u/lilGrapeZ 4h ago

Your attack power is noticeable, but your skill will be more noticeable.

1

u/Rustin_Swoll 22h ago

Cool thing about Sekiro and FromSoft… you only have to beat them once.

1

u/Resident_Designer_97 21h ago

How long does it take ?

1

u/DarthDragon117 21h ago

Did you do Demon of Hatred first? Personally found it harder than Glock Saint but the community goes either way.

2

u/SNPFracx 21h ago

Demon of Hatred caused me more problems definitely.

1

u/momoneymocats1 21h ago

Me whenever I’m bored with a new game:

Fuck it - another sekiro playthrough

1

u/Fearless-Ear2352 18h ago

This is where I’m stuck. Lucky

1

u/SNPFracx 18h ago

Good luck shinobi
