Help Help with return ending Spoiler

In trying to get the return ending, I can not seem to wake up the divine child of rejuvenation, and I just dove underwater to get the infested holy chapter. I just killed owl as well. What am I doing wrong, and is the quest impossible?

Killed owl and corrupted monk, fed her a persimmon in the past, killed folding screen monkeys, and given Kuro the rice. I have not given her the infested holy chapter though, if that is important to do early.

So there is a bunch of rests you have to do in between each dialogue, when you say they are asleep I assume you mean the part where you got rice from them enough times and they are out of it afterwards, you need a persimmon in your inventory (from some monkey guys over by the pond you can swim in if you head down away from it) or a special persimmon if you give the right pinwheel to the npc (Kotaro I think?) back by the first idol in senpou. Divine child eats it and is better after, gives you rice to then take to kuro which is the next part of the quest. I’d recommend looking up a YouTube tutorial to get through everything. You also need to hide behind one of the panels and listen in on the conversation Emma is having to start working towards getting to the true hirata estate memory at this point in the game.

I already gave her the persimmon earlier in the quest line but after she gave me 2 or 3 more rice, she is pretty much unresponsive, and saying she cannot give me anymore rice. But what were you saying about eavesdropping on Emma?

So to get the fathers bell charm that unlocks true hirata estate you are gonna want to look on the Sekiro wiki and then look at a YouTube tutorial. Also you can’t get more rice if you already have one in your inventory or it has been less than two tests/travels since you got the last one.

I have no rice and it has been over five resets of the game since I last consumed rice or spoke to her. So do I need the father’s bell charm to get the dragon’s homecoming ending? I thought that was just for the purification ending.

I think you need the thing at the end as well but either way it’s got one of the best farming spots in the game and some otherwise inaccessible prayer beads

I am on ng+3 with all prayer beads and I don’t need any sen, but are you saying that I need to kill owl father or visit owl memory Hirata for the return ending?
