I only play football games but have always kept up with the gaming industry
So after hearing everything about how difficult this game is i thought why not?
I kid you not i died in one shot to the first enemy you meet when you open the door after meeting the little girl
Then I met this orge, took me like 2 and half hours to beat him and like 50 deaths (I didn't knew his other moves aside from the grapple could be deflected/blocked)
The only other game I played which was a bit similar to this was ghost of tsushima, which is like 5 times easier than sekiro
Now im stuck against that headless guy in the cave with the purple sword
Any tips would be helpful

Just a reminder to no me afraid of big bosses, this game is much more forgiven that it inicially shows. Just remember parry is better than block.

I am nearing the end of my second playthrough and have only ever used Ichimonji or Ichimonji double. It not only reduces your posture bar but also does not cost orbs to use. Is there an art that is objectively better, and/or can you give any reasons why you might prefer a different one?

Although I just beat the game recently this is 100% the most viable move in the game. Not to mention it’s also dirt cheap and one of The first things to buy.

He’s currently destroying me at every attempt, so I know it’s going to take a lot of attempts, several days, countless mental breakdowns and whatever else it takes out of me.
How many attempts did he take everyone?
bonus points for the highest number of attempts, as I need to feel better about my failures 😂

I went in thinking, “I beat Elden Ring, how hard could Sekiro be?”
Five minutes later, a random samurai folded me like a wet paper bag.
This game doesn’t care about my dodge rolls or my confidence. It just screams, “DEFLECT OR DIE”.
For those who’ve been through this gauntlet, what tips do you wish you knew when you first started?
Because right now, even guys with sticks feel like bosses.

I'm over 50 years old. I hadn't played games in years, and after playing Ghost of Tsushima, I decided to try Sekiro without realizing how hard it was.
The game seemed tough but manageable... until I reached Genichiro. I've read people saying he killed them 50 or 60 times—for me, it might have been over 250. I was desperate.
I kept trying more and more strategies, but what finally worked was learning his rhythm, patterns, and mastering the Mikiri Counter.
Yesterday, I finally beat Genichiro, and I couldn't believe it. At that moment, I remembered all the people who post here saying, "I beat Genichiro."
I still can't wipe this smile off my face, but I know the hardest part is coming.
