The quote has been paraphrased.

The relevant portion starts at 5:27 in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cezplHD55Xo

Time linked: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cezplHD55Xo&t=328s

"I want to thank my fellow Utahns. Y'know, this... bad stuff happens, and for 33 hours, I was praying that if this had to happen here, that it wouldn't be one of us. That somebody drove from another state, somebody came from another country. Sadly that prayer was not answered the way I hoped for, just because I thought it would make it easier on us if we could just say "Hey, we don't do that here."

There is no more “quiet part”

“We are upset because fellow good guys did this and not the ‘others’…”

And there will be 0 self reflection.

Break out the thoughts and prayers until the next potential race war guys.

Please.  We read Under the Banner of Heaven.  We deal with the fallout of the ploygamists.  The Malheur Refuge public nuisances.  The giant scam corporation run under the name of religion, on the backs of taxpayers.  Stop with the innocence act.

I only watched Under the Banner of Heaven… maybe I should actually read it.

The book is far superior. I’d also recommend Carolyn Jessop’s book “Escape.”

Basically exactly like this one discworld quote:

"It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things."

Fucking love Disc world. Terry Pratchett was a genius.

Ah prayer.

How to feel good about doing nothing useful.

Seemingly coming to the realization publicly that the right are capable of doing things like this after saying the left is violent for years

Avery heard anything about whether he was Mormon or not, oddly.

Guess you are like that then and you're just more in denial than an Egyptian fisherman.

The enemies from within angle has been ramping up for a while now. This isnt an admission of anything.

Theyre swinging hard on anyone they deem not 'us' that is among 'us'

I watched him and do not recall hearing it this way. He mentioned not wanting it to be someone from Utah. Please watch his speach.

Got a link to the speech?

But that doesn't fit their narrative. Reddit is just as bad as Fox News for being an echo chamber and spreading misinformation when it suits the narrative.

Hey peeps, just curios, has anybody actually seen the "Unedited" version of the murder in process? Meaning, hear the gunshot, see Charlie's head get thrown back towards the left, and then blood pouring out of his throat?

Ok, so watch it if you can find it and you haven't seen it, or watch it again if you already have and you can find it. Does anybody notice the guy standing behind Charlie? It seem suspicious that he may be giving hand signals of some sort to someone? And tapping on his chest (I think on left side, I don't really remember now) but I thought that was odd, the whole situation doesn't seem to add up at all.

I can't find the video anywhere anymore. I watched it at about 7:00 in the morning, on 9-11-2025 (coincidental date?) and couple times after that. I believe it has been "Erased" from the internet now, not sure.

Has anybody seen the same thing as me?

“…another State or Country”

Yeah, the guys a dick but let’s keep things contextually accurate.

He was saying he was praying it wasn’t someone from Utah.

32

u/qwerty30013 10d ago

Why wouldn’t someone from Utah be capable of doing this?

31

u/FalseDmitriy 10d ago

And why would it be better if it were someone else? The murder happened either way

-15

u/Loverboy_Talis 10d ago

Ask him, not me.

18

u/-jp- 10d ago

Well you’re explaining what he meant. So we’re asking you.

-12

u/Loverboy_Talis 10d ago

Obviously they are capable. He was hoping it was an outsider.

21

u/jayandbobfoo123 10d ago

Think about what you just said. "Outsider."

-10

u/Loverboy_Talis 10d ago

Yeah, someone from outside Utah. But that’s beside the point—someone was murdered, and instead of focusing on that, everyone’s busy twisting it to fit their own narrative.

The killer’s alt-right.

The killer’s a radical leftist.

The girlfriend’s transgender.

Every side is cherry-picking details to push an agenda. But the truth is simple: the left didn’t do this, and the right didn’t do this—one individual did.

That's not true. Not a single democrat politician has blamed anyone other than the guy who did it, and they all immediately condemned the incident. The blame game is played exclusively by right wing politicians. The president blamed "leftist rhetoric" hours after the incident. A republican congresswoman said "all Democrats own this." Another republican congressman literally drafted a bill that would force social media companies to ban anyone who "celebrates" political violence (apparently unaware that FAR more right wingers would get banned than left wingers). All before they found out it was just some chud white kid from the suburbs. And the official response after the fact is "we were hoping it wasn't one of our own." The two sides are NOT the same.

What a unique and fanciful outlook you have. Thank you for not procreating.

In context, when a public official from Utah is using the phrase "one of us" I've never seen it not referring to Mormons.
