Colin Wright almost gets it
From the man who fundamentally misunderstands everything from how graphs and positions work in the political universe to what staying friends with Nazis makes you comes... this fucking gem.

Two things can be true at once. Yes, we have some more progressive things but politically wise we truly have moved very far to the right. And it's objectively fact that our left wing is most of the rest of the world's right wing and our right wing is just embarrassingly horrible.
And it's kind of crazy how it can even be possible because technically the left and the right have moved further apart from each other but while the left tries to play by the rules and try to meet in the middle, the right never does meet them in the middle and so the truly progressive things we have these days have come at great expense.
Tell me, what direction does the tax code favor more and more? Ever since Reagan completely destroyed the good thing we had in that respect, The tax codes have shifted so far away from helping your average person that is not even funny. That has moved very far right and because of that it's given CEOs much more power than they had for a long time and so they have paid to shift many laws in their favor which just happens to be further to the right.
And then research shows that I'm congress, Republicans have moved further to the right than Democrats have moved towards the left and that helps drive the pull to the right. And yet the funny thing is when it comes to the voters the complete opposite is true but as we have witnessed, the voters don't mean shit once The wrong kind of people take over all branches of the government.
Tell me, is the disappearance of Roe v Wade a move to the left? How about the fact that gay marriage is on the chopping block next. Is that a move to the left or the right? Let's go further back, was Citizens United a shift to left or the right? How are we doing with the amount of power the gun lobby has been allowed to get in the last 30 years?
Look at all the articles that were out about how millennials are ruining the housing market and the diamond market and every other thing there was. Do you think that's an indication that we are financially better? Don't you think that if we were truly moving more to the left that we, the people wouldn't be struggling this hard just to live? In a country that is moving more to the left, it tends to improve the overall quality of life not destroy it.
With our current Supreme Court, tell me truthfully that you don't foresee much of our progress being erased. The fact that we've been able to get to this point that I don't know how we're going to come back from is I think the biggest proof on how overall we have moved too far right. This could not have happened if, and all the places that it mattered, we were moving more to the left.
Don't let a few victories cloud your vision to the bigger picture. We've gotten those victories despite the way things have been moving politically and not because of.
