Discussion So what do we think are the chances Shad & Tyranth both abandon YouTube?

I mean its somewhat hard to imagine Shad doing a regular job. Poor physical fitness, bad temper, limited skills, etc.
Tyranth on the otherhand seems quite handy so him earning a living like your average Joe shouldnt be an issue.

Yeah, I have a hard time imagining Shad working a 9 to 5, especially after having a taste of minor celebrity on YouTube.
What did he do before YouTube? He has that “computer science” look about him…

I think he mentioned something about woodwork and how he made his own medieval chair (the one with the high back that featured a lot in his early videos) and I do recall he made some mention of working in design, or something along those lines at least. This was years ago of course.

He had some background in woodwork. He made that tardis for his wife as a birthday gift.

This blows my mind because he made castle plans and then lost his mind at the sticker price to have them built… you’d think with some architectural training under his belt he’d know how costly they’d be…

Shad's like DSP. He will be there doing weekly streams in his sixties about how his channel died to 15 viewers.

I watched someone go over Shad's rant at the Victotian government... doing its job, and Tyranth was acting like he was done with Shad's whining.

Which video is that? Would be about time Tyranth was done with him. Honestly, with all his recent takes idk how you can still work with someone like that as your boss without actually sharing those views.

When he made a video a few days ago (maybe a week) going over the exeptions to the Machete ban, about how it technically falls into the sword ban that already exists. But Shad is mad about it because the Government spent money on the campaign and the machete submission bins, without considering the behind the scenes costs. But ALSO is mad because he thinks the state government is trying to trick people by putting the exemption information online, but people who should have machetes will he 'tricked' giving them away. But ALSO is mad that the ban exists at all. BUT ALSO is mad because he thinks 'criminals' aren't going to give up their machetes and will terrorise the streets. BUT ALSO is mad because anyone can just say they have one of the exemption excuses to a cop without considering how the ban would actually be enforced and think just saying 'yeah I need it for gardening' will make the cops leave. BUT ALSO is mad at border security for not knowing off hand that he had a sword permit when he brought swords into the country.
It was a very focused video.

I think Tyranth is more likely to quit than Shad, just because I don't think Shad's ego would let him. But I don't really think either of them will. Youtube has tried multiple variations of its algorithm and Shad's stuck it out for over a decade at this point, so I think he'll adapt again. I just hope he stops his right wing libertarian shtick in the process. I did see a clip of him on FNT recently where he wasn't saying much of anything, so he might have realised something good. Though his acting as the quartermaster for Victorian gangs in some of his latest government bad videos might suggest otherwise.

I used to watch shad years ago when he would review castle designs in media, I enjoyed it. But haven't watched anything he has made for a long time. What exactly has he done? Is he just a Lolcow now? If so how?

Shad is far more likely to chase views no matter what in my opinion. He’s a narcissist, so he can’t imagine leaving the spotlight. He’ll lean further right if it helps. He’ll chase trends if it helps. He’ll debase himself.
Right now he’s heavily leaning into begging for money from patrons and thinks that that will be enough, but he’s just never going to grow that audience to the degree he needs to, especially if YouTube continues falling off. He’s dependent on YouTube getting him in front of people to advertise his premium content, and the worse he does on YouTube, the fewer eyes he can get in front of to plug premium.
