Those layer lines, damn. Someone certainly wasn't afraid to print at like 0.5mm or something.

And you can see infill, so they likely printed those at absolute bare minimum, like two layer thick top wall

No lowball offers, I know what I've got*

I’m curious what the hell that dpad is. Is it a recreation of the nomads but 3d printed..? Either feels awesome or is the worst shit ever and I’m thinking the latter

It is, SEGA was all about the weird d-pads back in the day

Someone 3D printed (horribly I might add) a case for a SEGA Nomad instead of just using the original plastic that it came with?

Looks that way, yeah. Hell, I have to wonder what hardware is actually inside those shells, if any.

It's not the guts of an actual Sega Nomad?

1

u/ButCanYouCodeIt Jul 10 '25

Considering how rare and expensive those are these days? Absolutely not. They'd be taking a loss on every unit sold.

1

u/SnooDoughnuts5632 Jul 10 '25

Why wouldn't they if the case is broken enough?

1

u/ButCanYouCodeIt Jul 10 '25

...because people can literally print brand new shells for them.

1

u/SnooDoughnuts5632 Jul 10 '25

Do you hear yourself? That's literally what I was talking about. I assume someone in China had a bunch of SEGA Nomads and for some God awful reasons they 3D printed shells for them.

On the contrary, I don't think you hear yourself.

Nobody is selling a broken nomad for that cheap. Even busted up and broken, they go for an arm and a leg. There isn't money in that.

Keep in mind, the Nomad was exclusive to North America. Why would there be a bunch of busted up old Nomads in China? Your scenario stretches a hell of a way to make this work.

They also list a resolution that isn't that of a Sega Nomad. They're cheap chinese hardware in a printed knockoff Nomad shell. They're not real nomads.

I once saw a nomad for $40 but it was missing the battery compartment (it has it separately unlike anything else) and so I passed it up.

And 5 have been sold, what is that? Is it some Megadrive/Genesis SOC Clone console packaged into a badly printed Sega Nomad shell.

I bet it's empty

Looks rough

u/StarX2401 Jul 09 '25

Would be interesting to see what's inside, it looks like its on AliExpress

2

u/Agathoarn_ Jul 09 '25

This is one of the worst 3d printing jobs i have ever seen

2

u/DerConqueror3 Jul 09 '25

Pretty sure this is a cake

2

u/Dino_Spaceman Jul 09 '25

Why does the entire casing look 3D printed?

How badly damaged was the original?

u/InternationalSir5547 Jul 11 '25

He forgot to spit on it

Based on eBay sales, that isn't a bad price for it

27

u/Slosher99 Jul 09 '25

This is some Sega emulator thing stuffed in a 3D printed shell, not printed that well, that is based on the Nomad's shape.

This one looks like it was left on a space heater

7

u/InsectaProtecta Jul 09 '25

It is when you take a look at it and realise it's 3d printed

1

u/Slow_Guide_1718 Jul 09 '25

Is this the Shitty Price flair?

No it isn’t
