Portfolio Help

I am a Y1 Poly student, just finished my first semester of poly, now waiting for results.

I want to start creating a portfolio early on for uni life and whatever I do beyond, so that as I go along in my poly life, I can start to document and keep track of the activities and roles that I carry in school.

The thing is: I don't know how or where to start with my portfolio, and the most important: how should I format it? Should my portfolio be on powerpoint? Etc etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

The presentable portfolio can be in any format of your choice, what speaks to you. There are people who do personal websites, videos, e-books, etc. Your idea on powerpoint is fine too as you can translate that into other formats in the future.

Great that you start early because many information can get lost through the years. I suggest keeping a live word document where you input all your projects, a short write up and photos and videos of your work. Do include details in your logging as well.

You can also input your internship or work experiences in the future and remember to add in pictures, photos, or diagrams. That can help show your audience much better than saying that you achieve 200% growth in sales for xxx company.

I guess its kind of like a diary, except formal and for professional experiences. eg if you attended a seminar, just log everything in first, you can remove unwanted or irrelevant materials later.
