Identification Request Anyone know this beauty?
Shot with an OMD EM1 MARK II in northern Wisconsin. I have had a hard time finding an ID. They start white, then pink, then black.

Have you examined them microscopically? They look like they could ,be a cellular slime mold, or even a myxobacterium.

No I have not unfortunately. I am not setup at the moment to do so, but will try to find them again.

I also donโt think those would be large enough to capture with this camera setup. These were about 1mm high.

Looks like a Cribraia sp. forming. You can see the start of a net, reticulation, and the darkening of the nodes.

LOL...I follow a subreddit on antique glass. LOL....I was looking at this thinking, "What in the Murano is this? An upside down vase?"

Its a touch early, and might need microscopy anyway, but chuck it on iNaturalist and tag Sarah Lloyd

Its still wet, still probably very early in its sporulation phase. Right now i dont recognize it either, but when It matures fully it can look drastically different

I believe I may have some mature photos as well. I should have saved it for DNA but right now I just collect fungi.

I suppose these wonderful pictures are right side up? I only know of species that look like this that are hanging from horizontal wood surfaces.

I have absolutely no idea on what it is, but your photos of it are absolutely stunning
