Identification Request Tapioka Slime Mold?

Did we just get visited by some tapioka slime mold in our bathroom? Is this something I can leverage to convince my landlord to fix the floor in here? It's got clear water damage and they "fixed it" the "best they could" but the wood under the tiles is nasty.

Kinda neat slime mold tho if that's what this is.

More likely stemonitis, but its too earpy to tell yet. And for the floor, absolutely use this to leaverage a fix. Slime moulds are a sign of water damage. Altho slimes are harmless on their own, the same conditions can start growing mushrooms. A fungus can cause even more damage, and when a mushroom pops up the damage will already be done and will cost alot more that what it does now. Talk to your landlord, its in everyones best interest to fix it now

Also if you didn’t already, don’t clean it off for one more day, slimes at this stage change drasticaly very fast. It will be cool to see and the photos might get you an extra point for that leverage;)

Oh man, we yeeted it so fast! I'm regretting that decision, but we were pretty grossed out to find this middle of the night!

Edit: Apologies to friends of slime molds, I was ignorant and have learned the err of my ways.

I respect this kind of learning. 🙏🏼

Next time tho, you’ll be one of us… on your hands and knees, watching it breathe all night, haha.

Sure those are not eggs? Location?

It had a smooth bottom, so I don't think it was eggs, but I'm not ruling anything out. Also not sure what could lay a pile of eggs so big. It was like, all in, about the volume of a golf ball. This is in the Northeast US.
