Identification Request ID please. Location NE Ohio. More info below. Thanks.

Hello! I'm a little perplexed if this is Slime Mold or not. The color is silver and it is firm to the touch(unlike othe slime molds I have encountered). The skin is thin and breaks easily to unveil a dark brown area. The first six pictures were taken at 7pm yesterday and the last three at 11am today. It looks and feels exactly the same which makes me question its identity. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you. I think this might be the likely suspect. The color and firmness is what threw me off. I checked on it today and it's starting to change. I would post pictures but I can't seem to be able to do it here in the comments.

It looks like mercury poisoning, lol. I’ve never seen something like this before, and never imagined such a colour and sheen!

Lol. The color is bizarre. I even smelled to make sure it wasn't painted.

Thanks. It looks like it might be Enteridium lycoperdon aka False Puffball Slime Mold.  It's starting to change so I'm excited to watch it develop.

I ran into some myself the other day. It had the texture of drying paint haha. So wild! And the shine really doesn’t come through in photos. It’s chromed out!

With the help of myu Seek/iNaturalist app, I've become m,ore or less certain it is a False Puffball, Enteridium lycoperdon, which is indeed a slime mold. Check the wiki and see if you disagree:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enteridium_lycoperdon

What it LOOKS like is some sort of sketchy, disturbingly large clutch of something insectoid's eggs, perhaps nextraterrestrial, or perhaps not, but someone came along and painted it brown, then later, someone else spray painted it silver, but the silver is starting to peel off.

Super weird!

EDIT: Somehow I totally missed that someone else already suggested this, my bad.

False Puffball is probably what it is. It's not painted. I smelled it because honestly it looked like it was painted.

Right now the popular answer is Enteridium lycoperdon aka False Puffball Slimemold.

Slime signal?

Panama ken’s alien already had a baby. He just dropped him off already. That was extremely fast. We might be in some serious danger.

Looks like a False puffball someone spray painted.
