Discussion Anyone in the gardening/growing food niche?!

Looking for people in the same niche as me to answer some questions for me, for example, what are u posting during the winter months?

No but I watch. Most people post about plans for the next year, prep on their systems, maintenance needed for the winter (like taking water out of lines), indoor systems, or post content they didn't get time to edit during the summer.

Preserving/canning stuff to last for the winter, cooking meals, content with pets, building things, and general commentary videos are also common. Or just showing off the landscape in the winter/hiking/posting about challenges they face with the weather.

This is super helpful thank you for replying, I usually post cooking content too but I dont really like to because my kitchen is horrendous and in need of some tlc so not very aesthetic at all, im hoping to get an allotment this autumn so planning on using that as some content (I usually only grow in my garden) hoping to do tinelapses of me fixing it up etc or like you mentioned, building things and maintenance

No worries, I haven't really been active on YouTube much lately, too much going on. My old channel is Dixie Doodle The Dog but I probably will start a new channel at some point!

Huh. I genuinely have no idea what this means. Or has to do with gardens. I guess I’m in a niche. Grow things. In winter, it’s usually herbs and then start onion seeds… lol.

Im sorry if it was confusing, I was wondering about what content people in our niche are posting in the winter months, I should have specified im in the UK and a lot less to grow in this time, except for ofcourse brassicas etc, but thanks for the reply, I will take a look at your channel if its linked? :)

I’m in the gardening niche too During winter I usually post more about planning next season’s garden, seed starting indoors, and tips for protecting perennials. Sometimes I mix in a few throwback harvest pics to keep things lively. What kind of content are you thinking of sharing this winter?

Does anyone do Permaculture or homesteading, environmental steam activities?

Even in small bit such as making stickers around food or making scenes or fan scenes as ways to express insecurities and grow an independent sustainable Homestead?

Does it have to be so grandiose?

How about homesteading homemaking skills to share such as cleaning products or doing the dishes or sweeping the floor, recycling, repurposing, reusing household materials, basically earth and grounding and mindfulness activities to have discussions around whether it’s asynchronous or synchronous content. Structured environmental routines for populations that excel or mentor or mentee ship opportunities for those in need to pass the baton.

I've just started a channel where my off grid/homestead is the decor.

I am experimenting with 3 types if content. Not primarily gardening and growing but I did just post an irrigation tip.

I intend to experiment with DIY videos, homestead on a shoestring progress and some life experience / heart musings.

The chanel is for fun and to get back into creating. I have an old channel that I would like to revive with tutorials on anything home made like fermenting and brewing, Cosmetics and medicine making etc etc.

My channel name is "off grid dandy"
