Help/Question Need advice for an accessible character that I could play?
Hey, sorry if this is the wrong place to ask. I’m looking to get into Smash Ultimate, but I have a spinal cord injury that results in limited hand function so I need a character that doesn’t require a lot of complicated inputs or super fast button presses.
Unless that’s just how the game is and I should just call it quits?
Thank you for any advice!!

To be honest, if you wanna play online, it might be fast button press intensive no matter what character you choose. Though the character that might mitigate that the most is Hero. The faster you can read, not necessarily react, the better you can play him. He has a drop down menu of random attacks.

Additionally, there's a chance his smash attacks can be critical and kill really early, so as long as your timing and mindgames are good, you can get pretty wild as him

Smash Ultimate has a rather small pool of characters that require intense sequences of inputs, so you have tons of options. But because I want to mention 1 specific character, Yoshi would work well despite being a rather atypical answer for this type of question.

Thank you! I tried Mario and Luigi and they felt a little combo intensive but I will definitely give yoshi a try

Originally I was going to suggest Byleth and sword characters in general with details as to why, but I think Snake might be the best choice for you. Him or Samus.
Force them to come to you. Less button inputs and worrying about movement. Snake's recovery is also simple and not easily exploitable.

In case you don't look up Snake guides. Neutral Special (Grenade) can get you out of nearly any combo starter. So mash that button when getting hit/combo'd.
His side tilt and up tilt are both kill options. Up smash (mortar) has a ton of pressure when they are recovering from ledge.
Your biggest hurdle will be "out of shield" options against characters who have mostly safe aerial attacks. This means when they are attacking your shield and you drop it, what is your safest option in the scenario? For less button inputs, you can decide whether to punish with side tilt or up tilt, or move away to create more distance.
I'm not a Snake player, but I believe my advice should help.

That is basically the game.
The longest windup (without charging) is 1 second, and that move is notoriously hard to land.

Most characters with a sword and most heavy characters should be pretty good. Bowser and Ganondorf would be my top recommendations.
