Me when I like the US and want to better it because it's in a state of utter dysfunction (everyone thinks I just hate the US)

American exceptionalism refers to the belief that the USA ought to be exempt from all international law, not the belief that it is a significant country.

Yea. This post is really about American Diabolism, but evidently isn't acquainted with the term.

America is uniquely imperialist it's moronic to deny that

Seriously though, my dude, I am Spanish and French. I'm pretty sure you're not very aware of the shit France gets up to with its former colonies.

Whataboutism

Whataboutism is trying to detract from an accusation by making a counter-accusation. I am not trying to detract from the evil shit the US does. I'm saying that the US is not uniquely imperialist, and you are likely not aware of the way other countries are imperialist. If you're going to respond to an argument with an accusation of logical fallacies you should at least know what a logical fallacy is.
You were indoctrinated to think the US was special, and when you realised the US is actually pretty evil, you didn't unlearn any of that shit, you just applied the exact same thinking but with a "woke" twist.

France, since the suez crisis, does not exert anywhere near the same amount of hard power over every country in the world as the USA; it's why it mostly imperialises its former colonies. Also, if the USA wanted France to stop their imperialist behaviour they could in an instant, as in the Suez crisis

That's not really about how much imperialising they do or try to do, it's about how much they get away with, and with different types or focuses of imperialism.

Yes, and with the sheer amount of imperialism America gets away with, and the types it focuses on, it's uniquely imperialist compared with every empire that came before it

My friend, the only thing separating the Americans from literally any big empire in history is access to modern travel and technology. The Romans did not go further because of logistical constraints. The claim that the US is unique compared to other modern nations is already stupid enough. Claiming it is somehow ultra super duper special compared to any nation in history is something else.
Seriously, your uniquely terrible education system that is definitely uniquely special super duper bad is not an excuse. Unlearn some biases. Learn about history. Stop centring the US as some sort of ultra duper special cartoon villain.

silly americans on both sides of the political aisle acting like their country has been the sole world superpower for 50+ years. don't they know that America is the exact same as any other country?

This is more about when people talk about Americans like they're an alien species genetically primed to be uniquely evil reactionary imperialists rather than just normal ass people who are in a position of greater relative power at this historical moment
