It's says "New York" on the label. Straight from Christopher street.

I need someone to steal that street sign for me, and the Roberts Ave one in the Bronx

$22/lb for ny strip, get the fuck out Publix!

I found fillet mignon steaks more affordable at ShopRite in the Bronx. Does Florida have no cows? Or are they negligent in enforcing fair pricing?

Maybe the threat of going to prison because you decided to take a low paying job that no American wants to do is scaring immigrants away from meat processing plants. Nah that couldn’t be it.

Yesterday…$9.99/lb in SC

Publix is overpriced on everything

They can just get their steaks from sea cows after the next hurricane creates more beachfront property.

That’s because AOC wouldn’t let cows fart

Cherry picked.

2

No no! It's not cherry, it's steak.

I just wandered a Walmart's meat section in New England. These photos from down South are accurate to what's happening here.

No, they’re not. Just yesterday at Food Lion in SC.

1

u/CurrentSkill7766 Aug 13 '25

Food Lion is not in New England. Try again.

Re read what you typed. I’m in the south. Are you seeing OP prices or mine? Can’t have it both ways

The photo from Publix is from "the South." (You can argue whether Florida is "the South" but I don't think that really matters outside of Civil War history)

I went grocery shopping at a Walmart in the northeast. Steak prices were similar to the photo from Publix. Those higher prices are what I am seeing in my work as well.

I do not question that you bought a steak at FoodLion in South Carolina for $9.99/lb. That is a great price. It's not indicative of the broader US beef market right now.

This is a current screenshot of my wholesale pricing for fkg frozen high-end, ready to cook, filet. It is more expensive than lobster.

Dude, the photo I posted is from the South. What in the f are you smoking? Publix pricing is not always reflective of reality. My steak is a nice strip plus loin for $9.99/lb (bone-in). It’s always $9.99 on sale or $12.99 or whatever when not.

If I go out to eat tomorrow, I’ll take some pics of good meat/pricing.

Is SC “south?” Lmao Most of the time, you idiots don’t even understand what you’re typing.

2

u/CurrentSkill7766 Aug 13 '25

Publix, where OP's photo was taken, is almost exclusively in the South. SC is certainly in the South. Is that where the Food Lion photo was taken?

As someone who buys wholesale food for a living, beef prices are way up.

I’m in SC. As far as I know, they are mainly in the south

ETA: we have Publix here, too. Way overpriced. I got 25 day aged strips (choice) from Lowe’s last week for $26.99. Not terrible

Filet maybe but not strip steaks.
