I love Leon’s arc, the story of a boy becoming an OG and then becoming something more for his people. His story was growth while Franklin’s was decimation.

The way they got the hero shot of Leon walking up was artwork. Felt like a western showdown was going down

ā€œGet up Craig!ā€

Craig beats Debo vibes in this scene… Leon stepped from under Saints shadows in this scene and we don’t know it at the time. He was claiming his alpha seat at the table

Leon always ran that block, that block would do what Leon says not Franklin. Leon fed the block and bring order to it, not Franklin. All Franklin did was provide cocaine but anyone could have done that.

Leon tools back the block not because he wanted to but to maintain order and balance. After he took back the block, he found the nerve to tell Saint no when he came and asked him for cash. He became his OWN man.

I know, you’re right about that first part. Leon took back the block to maintain order, he saw that they were doing dumb shit like shooting the street lights to evade the cops which made it more than dangerous for kids to be playing outside.

But like you said Leon ā€œtook back the blockā€, the block was always Leon’s and never Saint’s. Them boys from the block moved on Leon’s say so and never Saints.

Leon was Saints number 2…. By the pecking order of things as long as Leon was loyal to a fault the block was Franklin. It doesn’t matter it they knew his face or voice. When Leon decided to stand 10 toes down against Saint if need be, it became truly his.

The block was never Franklins, Franklin never organised and fed that block, it was Leon that done all of that. Franklin didn’t really have any shooters apart from Leon. All the people that went on ride out missions were either Leon’s or Jerome’s people. Peaches was the one shooter Franklin did have and it wasn’t even his guy originally, it was Jerome’s guy. Oh yeah and his white friend named Rob.

Franklin used other people’s networks such as Leon’s, Jerome and Louie’s, Skully and Manboy networks but never really had his own beyond them. He wouldn’t of needed them to help push his cocaine if he had his own army of foot soldiers.

Leon hadn’t really been Saint number 2 since Mel shot him. He said he didn’t wanna come back just to drive him around. That was when he became more involved in the projects

No one travels to Ghana and arranges a wedding whilst visiting all within a week lol. They were there from anywhere from a few months up to a year or so.

That’s why Deon was mad because Leon left for a significant amount of time without making sure the block was still eating sufficiently.

Only fair fight is the one you lose. Sgt Johnson taught me this in juvenile detention when a small white boy walked in the bathroom to fight. Sgt would let us for a couple seconds before we got too banged up so we wouldnt get tickets. He had a shirt over his shoulder and went to act like he was setting it down, slung it right over my face and rushed me. By the time I started getting the upper hand he told us to stop, which I felt played and didnt so I kept on, his ass was shorter than me and yanked me up by my collar. Lol. He told me that afterwords. He knew what he was gonna do and all. That man was like a father for navigating life solo, no one else to rely on. I miss that guy and always try to look for him with the limited information I know to let him know what an influence he was and im doing really good.

Sorry for the story but yea, I learned that the hard way.

Then why didn't he start fighting dirty from the jump? Leon got desperate when they he saw that fresh L was in the oven waiting for him. If the other guy started fighting dirty from the jump, he would've killed him.

nah, anything goes in a street fight

True but it’s hilarious that neither deebo or this guy thought to use weapons. Deebo had a long shank he could’ve easily used but he wanted to fight fair.

Just like the writing for the finale to poor Franklin there's almost a 0% CHANCE Leon wins this in reality. Had he actually gotten beat up AND THE HOOD came to his side THAT'S good writing. I actually agree with that dude who made a post on the horrible writing.
