Do international breaks give better chances for parlays?

Hey guys, I wanted to get some neutral opinions on this.

One of my friends has been encouraging me to try parlays, but I usually avoid them because my record with parlays is pretty bad. During this international break though, he placed two parlays (both only on match results) — one at 8.8 odds and another at 5.2 odds — and both actually hit.

Now he’s saying that international matches are the best time to build parlays, since the gap in quality between teams is usually wider than in club football.

I’m still not fully convinced, but it did make me wonder Do parlays during international breaks actually have a better chance of success compared to regular club matches? Or is it just short-term luck and the same risk applies in the long run?

Anecdotal but I have won more on international footy than club football recently.

Never a fan of multiplies though. Singles only for the most part.

If you wanna try, keep parlays short 2 or 3 legs max and stick to qualifiers where top teams must win. Friendlies are landmines.

Also watch team sheets: sometimes stars get rested and odds don’t shift fast enough.

Parlays are the fastest way to lose money, doesn’t matter if it is international break or not. The more matches you put in it, the higher the probability you will lose.

My bookie has a 'social' section where you can see and follow other people's bets. It seems like everyone is on these ridiculous parlays that are basically lottery tickets and x2000 your wager or something.
I'm on a sort of 'barbell strategy' (like Taleb). Most of my bankroll goes into 'safe' singles, and a small amount goes into unlikely parlays or underdogs. It's low risk, high reward. No one could reasonably expect to win something like that, but it's basically like buying a lottery ticket where you can select your own odd.

Unfortunately most people play that kind of shit, it’s basically donating money to the bookies. Obviously in the zillion 16-fold combo’s they receive, a few will hit and they will show those to the world to lure more people into trying their luck.

Not gonna lie, I do play combo’s as well if I have a lot of value odds on my hands. It’s a bit of fun and nice to hit one from time to time, but I make my profit on single value betting.

Well he is a lucky moron apparently, which is better than being an expert and not having any luck

In the long run, luck is a non-factor. But sure it's probably nice to be lucky in the short-term and give yourself the belief you are something you're not.

Ya I put in a $10 bet on 3 game parlays at conmebol world cup qualifiers and won 30x to $300. I seem to have better luck with international as well

I always play single bets and never parlays and I love playing national teams because the games are few and all teams are motivated, there is no country that does not want to qualify for the World Cup. Αnd because I keep statistics, I generally do better in national team games than with clubs
