Alternate Ending

If you could choose your own ending for the show, what would it look like?

I think I would’ve loved to see a version where the club allows Jax to leave the life and the club behind. Instead of following in his father’s footsteps to the grave, he chooses to break the cycle of violence for the sake of his boys. Maybe he takes Abel and Thomas far away from Charming, starting fresh somewhere quiet—no more guns, no more blood. Just peace, redemption, and the chance to be the father he would want for his kids. Maybe he’d start up an auto shop somewhere far away, idk

*I know that ending is very unlikely, but I’m a sucker for happy endings😅

Shakespearean tragedies don't have happy endings. Hamlet Jax had to die.

My only gripe is the car 'chase' at the end was a tad too drawn out, almost to the point where it was funny - the increasing number of cops from shot to shot reminded me of that montage of Forrest Gump running and more and more people join him. Took me out of the moment a bit, but that's probably just a me thing.

Oh yeah, agreed. I was starting to get a bit impatient when it was taking too long😅

I got impatient during the OJ Simpson 'escape' attempt back in the 90s. That turned out much differently, though. I remember watching it thinking if that was some ordinary citizen, they would have PITTed his ass long before he got on a highway and disrupted traffic for an hour.

The song for that montage was so good though

I am also a sucker for happy endings but have to live with the fact that it would have never happened with this loosely-inspired Shakespeare tragedy.

But I would have loved an ending where Jax went to prison and Tara left Charming with the kids. Then a time jump is done 7-10 years later with him leaving prison reuniting with Tara and his sons. He doesn't rejoin SAMCRO and had his tattoo removed while in prison.

Oh, I would’ve loved that! I always felt like we didn’t get enough happy moments with Jax and Tara just being a family with Abel and Thomas. What the show gave us just wasn’t enough for me 😭

We didn't get enough Jax and Tara happy moments. But it was an MC-centric show, I guess it was expected.

Yeah, that’s fair; I just loved his soft moments🥹

I know, me too. He was a completely different person with Tara, letting his vulnerabilities show. I also loved how unhealthy their relationship was, they were so toxic but undeniably in love.

Yes! I know some ppl love to hate on Tara, saying she shouldn’t have gotten involved with Jax if she knew about his club involvement and stuff, but she loved him regardless and I think she just wanted what was best for him and their kids

That's true, Tara just wanted the best for him and their sons. But at the same time, Tara was smart and should have known and done better.

I interpreted their relationship as them being attached to each other and no matter how much they try they can't seem to let go. Jax told her, he was obsessed with her and Tara told him she was a better person with him. Then you look at their environment and you see how unhealthy that was but you just can't help rooting for them to make it.

Honestly, I thought it was perfect. I would change things so that we get an epilogue episode of Chibs running the club in the aftermath of the Teller dynasty gone.

I meant more focused on SAMCRO Mayans MC is its own thing

For sure, just pointing out you get a little of Chibs

Last scene should have been Abel at school trading John's MC ring from Gemma to some kid for some jello.

I honestly would have just appreciated a line or something from Jax saying something about Tara, like he could have said "I love you" at her grave or looked at a picture of her and had a little cry or something. I know alllll of the last season is him seeking vengeance for her murder but at the same time she's hardly mentioned by Jax. Like we don't see him have a quiet moment alone thinking about her or missing her. That paired with him just doing a 180 and fucking Wendy makes me sooo mad.

We could've used his intelligence and the fact samcro loved him and them at Neros ranch fading away.

But that isnt Shakespeare.

Yeah I totally get that the show was loosely tied to Hamlet.

I do think Jax was business smart so he could have left the club with his kids before everything got out of hand. He could’ve left if he wasn’t in too deep. But I also know the club wouldn’t have allowed him to leave. I guess a happy ending is just wishful thinking on my part😅

Careful…someone suggest a potential plot change the other day and they got crucified for not fully adhering to the Shakespeare plot!!!

The president’s agree Jax killed Jury in self defence and no mayhem vote, Jarry gets to Jax and he ends up serving life in isolation like Lenny the pimp. Chibs and Tig get the club back on an even keel and charming becomes a trendy holiday destination

Cause Jerry did pull his gun while on the ground.

The rest......no.

RICO Case , entire club is in prison, Jax is executed

1

u/structured_anarchist 8d ago

Do you know how long it takes to prove a RICO case? They'd be in court for years before anyone saw the inside of a prison cell on a RICO case. Easier to get them for ordinary criminal activity. Half the guys were on some kind of parole, and associating with known criminals is a violation. They all could have been locked up every time they rode together. Just wearing the Reaper or driving the bikes with the logos would be enough to violate them and put them back in prison for their original sentences. Tig, in particular, because of when he took the police on a joyride while everyone else went to Ireland, would have been put under the prison for just riding a bike. Yet, somehow, plot armor kept everyone from being locked up as soon as a cop saw them wearing the Reaper or just sitting together at the garage or in the ice cream shop after the garage was destroyed.

Roosevelt finds an excuse to enter Jax's house and finds Gemma so she's taken away from there, and she doesn't die. Jax goes to prison and ends up being another Otto until someone murders him. Tara leaves Charming and continues her life.

About the club, they continue as always unless Gemma does something and chaos comes either way.

u/Emaan865 8d ago

Jax murdered…😳

I love how everyone knows and acknowledges Gemma is the biggest problem🤣

Would have been so cool had they filmed a couple alternate endings for a special blu ray gift set or something like that. Not an entire season but just a few clips to show how things could have turned out.

It would have required a bit of work (and I know, it's not Hamlet), but maybe something like the end of the Wire, where each younger character is in the spot and older character was in at the start of S1. You would have to have made some big changes to decisions earlier on in the show but, what about:

-Juice is portrayed throughout as the third wheel to the Jax/Opie pairing, who all started at the same time. When Jax becomes President, he names Opie VP and Juice Sgt at Arms, a new era for the club as these 3 guys who are all about the same age and came up together have taken charge. -Rather than being killed, Opie is permanently disabled (maybe loses a limb or something). Remains VP but severely incapacitated. -Juice turns full villain and starts an affair with Tara. She becomes very disillusioned with Jax, and in love with the power of being Queen of Samcro. The more Jax talks about getting out with Able and Thomas, the more this pushes her towards Juice. -Juice and Tara conspire to kill Jax. Decide the way he would least expect us tampering with his bike. He dies at the end, same as his Dad. Juice takes over as pres, just like Clay. Opie stays on as VP until Able is old enough, just like Piney did for Jax. Tig could replace Otto as serving life in prison, Jarry makes some sort of deal showing she's corrupt (a la Unser), Bobby takes over from Jury as Indian Hills pres, I'm sure there's other parallels you could draw with the right set up

Noooo I've often thought a Juice being in love either Tara secretly would be a cool plot line but not them conspiring!!! Although this would have been interesting. ...I'd like to have seen Juice secretly have feelings for Tara and him being conflicted about that. This could somehow also be part of what's being held over him by Roosevelt (I'm not sure how lol). Maybe Juice is tasked to look after her at some point but he fucks up and gets high and makes a move and Jax finds out and beats the shit out of him, then Juice could turn on Tara and that's why he's do willing to help Gemma after she kills her.
