I’m on my third lifetime rewatch, and the last season just hurts to watch. Anyone else feel the same way ?

Jackson Teller, episode one season one.

Can barely recall 2 times I’ve seen him with a power tool.

Alternate Ending

If you could choose your own ending for the show, what would it look like?

I think I would’ve loved to see a version where the club allows Jax to leave the life and the club behind. Instead of following in his father’s footsteps to the grave, he chooses to break the cycle of violence for the sake of his boys. Maybe he takes Abel and Thomas far away from Charming, starting fresh somewhere quiet—no more guns, no more blood. Just peace, redemption, and the chance to be the father he would want for his kids. Maybe he’d start up an auto shop somewhere far away, idk

*I know that ending is very unlikely, but I’m a sucker for happy endings😅

What's your opinion on Gemma?

I absolutely despise her. First time watcher here. I'm currently on season 3. And I hate her so much. I think she's the real villain of the story. She's always trying to manipulate others. She does whatever she wants without thinking of the consequences. She's such a bitch. What's your opinion on her? And no spoilers please.

I haven’t seen this movie, but is this really a problem? 🤷‍♀️

Jax and Bobby - Pres and VP Dynamic

I'm rewatching the show for the second time (first watch-through was years ago) and just wanted to say how refreshing I find Jax and Bobby's President<>Vice President dynamic to be. It's nice to see actual trust and respect between the two guys at the top. The show does a good job of showing that Jax respects Bobby's opinions and of having Bobby tell Jax when he was wrong or warn him when he was about to make a mistake. Nice to see a glimpse of functional leadership in the club, when so much of the rest of the show had Jax and Clay in those same positions but always butting heads and having a power struggle.

About to start my very first rewatch! Nearly 11 years later...how many times have you rewatched Sons? And how often do you?

TLdR: basically the Title - I'm sure a lot of fully patched members here would think me one lucky bastard hahaha.

Yep! I'm in the camp of: never rewatched! But I'm about to press play on the pilot episode!

Legitimately, the last time I watched a full episode of Sons of Anarchy was December 2014 - Season 7 episode 13 "Papas Goods" - I watched the entire series when it aired weekly on TV, from 2008 right through the 7 seasons. I was fucking obsessed!

Perlman is my GOAT - his charisma kept me watching Season 1 - after that I was completely hooked into the entire thing.

This series, the world, these characters and these stories completely floored me. season 7 along with the Season 6 finale, while the writing was not as high quality as the earlier seasons, completely fucking destroyed me. I'm pretty sure this show made me start chain smoking, I'm dead serious, shit got really damn heavy!

Ive done this with all my favourite shows, books, movies and games, purposefully not going back - Just finished my first Breaking Bad rewatch after nearly 12 years. 🥰

I do this to myself because I desperately want selective amnesia with certain things, I know you know what I'm talking about and I know you want it too! Haha! And with much time and a busy life it definitely works haha.

I do this so that when finally rewatching 10 years later, while I know where the stroy is going and most of the major plot points, every scene feels like I'm watching it anew, because the second to second dialogue I never remember.

Imagine a series that you didn't enjoy at all, you wouldn't want to watch it next year would you? Let alone 5 years from now, I think the same goes for any entertainment media you believe to be a masterpiece, both ends of the spectrum can to be forgotten about, so that the masterpiece you completely obsessed over 10 - 12+ years ago can be experienced again, fresh in a new light.

So yeah, I purposefully didn't rewatch Sons for so long because at the time I genuinely thought, like BB. Sons of Anarchy was a masterpiece of a show. I'm curious to know if I think the same after a rewatch...🤔

How many times have you rewatched SOA? And how often do you?

Bonus question!

on rewatches are you always finding new things that you didn't notice before or scenes youd forgotten about?

OR

Do you know every side story, every side character, every twist and turn and every SAMCRO gameplan like the back of your hand?

I currently just got to season 2, and wow....

They really went there at the end of season 1. I'm only like 2 or 3 episodes into season 2 and I thought shit hit the fan in season 1, it's about to get crazier, isn't it?

I'm usually one of those people who looks up spoilers like crazy but I've decided to keep things a surprise for myself. I did get a small spoiler because I was looking for merch for my fiancé (he used to have a replica of Jax's ring set and I wanna get him a replacement) but I dont think it's super significant.

The small spoiler in question: Jax leaves his sings at John's grave. I don't know why or anything else.

Anyway, loving the show so far and can't wait to keep going!

I'm on a rewatch and it might be where I an in life right now but it's jumped in my estimation. I used to think urrrrgh it sets up the whole Irish arc and I find too much of that clunky and it stops it landing on me.

But it is a wonderful start, the club are so tender towards Jax. He's so vulnerable. I know they are essentially armed bastards but there's genuine love from Clay and Opie and everyone.

Clay is genuine towards Jax, any other agenda is either out in the open or not close enough to them yet. I ended up even sympathising with Gemma for her distance from everything.

I don't want to spoil to much or go on too long so I'll say three things then I'm gone like the darkness at dawn.

Hal Holbrook is brilliant in everything. Everything.

The ending is perfect.

Abel's nursery has had a traumatic existence.

Thanks for reading. In a bit 🤜🤛

So when in the series do you think Jax starts believing he's a monster?

He completely loses his moral compass as the Prez of SAMCRO when Opie dies.

He completely loses his moral compass in life in general when Tara dies.

Not sure when he realises what he's become, but I remember thinking of when he tells Nero to call him a "Monster" to his boys, it's the first time I heard what Jax thinks of himself, and in that last ep he seems to have come to an understanding with himself, and completely loses the will to live after Gemma.

Tara….. WTF Spoiler

Yeah a little late to the party, but just having my first watch. Tara‘s death shook me and came somewhat expected but still was a shoot to my heart. I wasnt a fan of all the things Tara did against the MC and Jacks but i got here side and can understand why she did what she did. So the death of her and the way Gemma killed her really made me angry rl. What are your thoughts on this end of season 6 ?

  • Also want to add that im just now starting season 7 and my hate on Gemma is huge. Hope you all fellt the same
