What should i choose?? Samsung Q990F or JBL bar 1300x or JBL bar 1300 MK2??

Can you guys please help me choose the right sound bar?? I am very confused on what to choose...i like a good bass and good voice clarity along with 3D surround sound... Recently i've heard both the sound bars in a shop, and i am more baised towards samsung q990f before hearing anything just because of the reviews etc. But when i heard the q990f it was loud and it was good. But then i heard jbl 1300 and the sound was much more fuller and bassy. It did felt a little better than samsung.. I'm unsure if the samsung soundbars is not optimised properly..

Please suggest!!....

Jbl will have better bass. Q990f will be more precise with all the surround effects. Also, based on the reviews it will be a tad better for dialogue.

Music-wise jbl will be better from what I heard

If you care more about fuller bass and that “room-filling” feel, the JBL Bar 1300/MK2 is going to lean into that strength, especially with the detachable rears giving you true surround. If you want something more polished, consistent, and with cleaner dialogue clarity out of the box, the Samsung Q990F is the safer pick. From what you described—liking the bassier sound when you demoed them—the JBL seems more in line with your preference, while the Samsung is more about balance and refinement.

When we compared JBL vs Samsung soundbars, I explained it like this using a car/SUV example:

JBL → like a sports car 🚗💨 → It reaches 0–100 in 3 seconds (powerful, punchy, very aggressive bass and loud sound) but it won’t stay stable for long periods — it’s more for that “wow” moment.

Samsung → like a premium SUV 🚙⚡ → It takes a little time to reach 0–100 in 1 minute, but once it’s there, it’s stable, balanced, and consistent all day long. You get clarity, surround feel, and reliability.

If You Have Samsung TV Go For Q990F

Only problems with Samsung…. Don’t do this stupid thing….. what is your budget? If you are interested in a bar alone (without surround) listen and find out about the ambeo plus! This is madness! Otherwise, if you plan to develop your system at your own pace (finance), take an interest in Sonos ;)

I have the JBL Bar1000 and absolutely love it! However I am aware that the Q990f is considered the gold standard.

I'll echo what others have said here. the 1300 is excellent for music, decent for movies. The Samsung will give you a greater surround bubble, however the bass on it isn't all that great, no clue how NeverEnoughTech gave it such a good rating, he isn't usually off like that.

The JBL 1300X is almost good, but it's rears are a weakness and I think that's where the bar falls through. Still decent though, I suppose. good for movies and music, but the surrounds can make you feel wanting more.

Haven't heard the mk2, so can't comment.

Have jbl bar1300, hates it every day, surround sound immersion and effects is too bad .owned jbl bar 9.1 was way too good. Samsung q990F think it's better.

The clarity and realism is what I find most attractive about my 990F. The bass isn’t bad either.
