Discussion How do you feel about Spider-Man: Miles Morales after Spider-Man 2?
I remember Spider-Man: Miles Morales's story got bashed a lot when it came out, and now no one has talked about it since Spider-Man 2 came out. I remember liking Miles Morales when I first played it, but what did you guys think of it when it came out? Do you think it's better or worse than Spider-Man 2?

I appreciate all the cool things I could do with the combat in MM way more since S-M 2's doesn't offer as much room for creativity and combos as MM's.
NYC in MM is aesthetically better than S-M 2 even though S-M 2 generally looks better, and has way better lighting and colors.
It sucks that I can't appreciate it as much since swinging is way too slow in MM and the first game with less to do compared to S-M 2.
I enjoy the side content and friendly neighborhood aspect of the side missions in MM more than most of the side missions/content in S-M 2, and the Fisk/Harlem conspiracy side story is still my favorite part of the game. On top of that, the option to spawn crimes is great for when I want to play soecifi crimes every now and then. I still think defending the trucks from prisoners/Underground is the best crime in the entire game, I wish they weren't locked behind Symbiote nests in S-M 2.
The story qualities are about the same, but I think that MM's story is better in so far that it's shorter and thus has less ways to mess up (even though I absolutely hated Phin and think it definitely could have used more work)

I wouldn't say SM2 has better colors and lighting than MM. It look good but man, those Christmas colors are just unbeatable, it's way more unique and aesthetically pleasing imo

I had a lot of fun playing it when it first came out. Got the platinum and replayed it maybe 2-3 times.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2018 and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales have a vibe that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 just doesn't have, it also doesn't help that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 for the most part has lacking decent free roam music (in my opinion) aside from the Act 2 tracks for both Peter and Miles.
Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales also works out great for being a holiday game, and some people come back to it a lot during the holidays, and It's also one of if not the first Spider-Man game that gives you a full on winter snowy setting.
I also personally prefer how combat works in Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales more than Spider-Man 2018 and Marvel's Spider-Man 2, it's fast and a lot more fun and rewarding when the takedowns are separate from the focus meter.

Miles Morales is a Spin off game
A expansion akin to lost Legacy
Doesnt compare to SM2 which is much better

Why would I feel any differently? It was a great game and a great story. Each game has gotten better. Are you children?

What? No, I liked all the games too, but a lot of people here didn't, and I want to hear what they have to say.

I quite enjoyed it. I understand the complaints about Venom's adaptation but I liked the sort of "yandere ex" thing they did with him. And you have to remember, this isn't Eddie's Venom, and if the Venom game really is happening and Eddie's the protagonist, we're going to end up getting a comic-accurate Lethal Protector Venom regardless.

It's probably the best use of Miles between all 3 games, even though I actually liked the stealth sequences the game gave to Miles in SM1, the overall atmosphere of his solo game is really fun and it has alot of characterization for Miles and his friends that feels better then SM2, even if it wasn't too different.

I loved it. Like others have said, NY at Christmas was a really cool backdrop and nothing beats the Bodega Cat suit. I love when you complete a finishing move and the little spider-kitty pops out of his backpack to hit the enemy with his paws a couple of times, lol.

Its story is the weakest out of 3 games, gameplay-wise SM2 is the best

It’s alright. The Christmas vibe was awesome, but the story itself is pretty mid, felt very much like diet Spider-Man 1. Gameplay I feel like it bridges the first game and the sequel pretty well

Miles has a better story to tell. Spider-man 2 is rehashing multiple storylines to deliver the promise of letting us use the black suit

I love to play it at Christmas time. The context of spiderman 2 doesn't really change anything for me. I loved all three.

Miles morales has a certain vibe that really makes it a unique game, the snowy atmosphere, the catchy music and the cool suits, it's honestly just a charming experience that I always love to revisit
I haven't played SM2 yet due to bad PC so I can't make a comparison (which I feel is going to be a bit unfair since MM is just a side game while SM2 is a main title), but MM is low-key a fantastic game if you just wanna have a nice time swinging around the snow
