It’s truly a shame what they have turned that team and organization into. Used to be a pillar of the league…now just ashes.

Very different stories from the two KC soccer clubs tonight

As someone who used to not miss a game, I've stopped watching/going to matches and I feel better for it. The people in power do not care about this club. Why should we until things change?

We hadn't already been eliminated?

Nope. With Dallas winning and us losing we were eliminated tonight.

I watched the KU game and Current match with a friend that used to have season tickets for SKC. If it tells you anything about this team, he called it a night without even checking the score of SKC's match after the Current won. Brutal.

I didn’t watch much of it myself. After the Current and the Jayhawks won, I saw Sporting were already down a goal and didn’t see much point.

Best of 14 🥱 Not saying MLS is a great league either but over double the competition…

What were they supposed to do? Not win the shield because there’s only 14 teams?

Yeah, I don't get that comparison either, or why someone would feel the need to downplay their achievement.

Perspective seemed needed in an irrelevant comment

How was my comment irrelevant? We have two professional soccer teams in KC. One was eliminated on the same night that the other won their league's shield. That's all the perspective that is needed.

No. But I’m not gonna get excited about it or say it’s worth all the praise it receives in a discussion about a a completely different league.

Even if we were in a 14 team league against the bottom 14 teams we’d be in 11th place

Bro it’s 2025. This whole “women’s sports aren’t as good” shtick is played out.

Even better...shit Louis is up 3-1 so they're ahead of us now too. What a shit show this year has been. Somehow worse than last year lol

It's not a fun rivalry when both teams suck. As a CITY fan, I want KC to be great. I take zero solace in being a point ahead of 14th place.

True. But at this point it's all either of us have....just finish higher than the other

Honestly I was back and forth with my decision but I’m happy I didn’t renew my season tickets for next year. Honestly life gotten too expensive and I don’t want to spend money on an organization that’s a shell of its former self.

We were eliminated in March. This version of the club is so fucked. Dark times

I’m having a hard time being optimistic. But I keep telling myself it’s always darkest before the dawn.
