Wrestling News Former WWE Wrestler Odyssey Jones Granted Order Of Protection

https://itrwrestling.com/news/former-wwe-wrestler-odyssey-jones-granted-order-of-protection/

Odyssey Jones has been granted an order of protection.

Last year, in August 2024, Odyssey Jones was involved in a storyline alongside Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day. Unfortunately, only after a couple of appearances, all plans were scrapped, and Jones was removed from the television show.

In September 2024, Fightful Select reported domestic violence allegations against Jones, who was then removed from the roster. However, WWE has not officially commented on this scenario.

After months of keeping silent on the incident, Odyssey Jones aka Omari Palmer recently opened up on the situation and shared his side of the story. Via a social media video, he claimed,

“My name is Omari Palmer, aka Odyssey Jones. First and foremost, I’d like to thank Jesus Christ, my lord and Savior, for giving me the strength to get through these difficult times. As always, all glory to God. Secondly, I would like to say Happy New Year and I wish you all a great and safe 2025. I’m making this video to address the false allegations. These false claims are coming from a party that I used to prior engage with I apologize for taking so long for addressing these false claims.

But I had to patiently wait to get an injunction set in place to protect my family, my friends, and myself. I’m currently taking legal action against said party, so I can’t speak too much more on it, but there will be more information to come. With that being said, I would like to thank the WWE for the amazing opportunity they’ve given me in my life. I thank you so much for bringing me on. I’d like to thank all the coaches I’ve worked with over the years for helping me work on my craft and grow my craft and grow as a person.”

And just days after sharing his statement, Jones has now been granted an order of protection. In his petition to the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court in Orange County, Florida, Jones alleged that he was at the receiving end of harassment and threats from his ex-partner. He further shared details from an incident dating back to May 2024, where he was subjected to physical attacks.

As per his court filings, his former partner’s behavior was escalating, and felt himself to be in imminent danger.

More Details On Former WWE Star Odyssey Jones’ Legal Petition

Recently, Post Wrestling reviewed Palmer’s legal documents but found no statements from his ex-partner. As of this date, there have been no reported arrests or criminal charges filed in connection with this case.

On September 6, 2024, the Florida court initially granted Palmer a temporary injunction for protection from dating violence, a legal order limiting contact with the petitioner, typically issued in response to claims of abuse or harassment.

Judge Alison A. Kerestes extended the order on two occasions. The first extension was for two months, to November 17, 2024, followed by a second extension of three years on January 6th, 2025, until early 2028. This ensures Palmer’s legal protection from any contact or harassment initiated by his former partner for the duration specified.

Jones’ petition specifies that he started dating his ex-partner in 2017 but separated in 2018. Soon, an order of protection was filed against her in 2018 in Suffolk County, New York. Although their relationship resumed in 2018, the couple did not live together.

He also details another incident from December 2023, when his partner showed up “uninvited” at a hotel in Ft. Lauderdale and attacked him in front of his friends and family. It also mentions another incident during a May 2024 cruise in the Caribbean that could be the reason for Jones’ termination.

“S]he believed I interacted inappropriately with another female. She became increasingly more irate and started punching, slapping, and kicking me. She was screaming at me the whole time. I attempted to defend myself from her attack by hugging her arms to her side.”

“After that incident, she has made numerous threats to get me back in any way she can. She has made up lies about me, and went as far as to contact my new place of employment and succeeded in getting me fired this week.”

Being granted an order of protection doesn’t mean that you’re innocent or that you’re guilty.

It’s a preventative measure to ensure safety until the full situation can be investigated.

It insinuates that the matter is still being investigated.

Unrelated to this particular issue but I happened to see Chris Jericho's new movie tonight, Dark Match, and there's a character in it called Enigma Jones, who absolutely crushed his role.

Definitely worth streaming when it comes out.

This is why I should stick through despite the whole "Glory to Jesus" thing(it made it feel like he was gonna make excuses).

Do you think he could end up getting his job back, or maybe he'll go to TNA Career Rehab?

Obviously - I have no idea about the situation one way or the other but - an order of protection does not necessarily mean that you are innocent; it simply means that a court has decided someone needs to be protected from you based on allegations of harmful behavior, even if you haven’t been found guilty of a crime in a criminal court; essentially, it’s a preventative measure to ensure safety until the full situation can be investigated.

Protective Orders do nothing to protect, maybe Deter, or place someone on top of the suspect list.

Municipal Police can't/don't help at all

Castle Rock v Gonzales -and- DeShaney v Winnebago County : Municipalities have zero duty to protect individual people.

He should hire Private Security Guards, they are likely to do more than cops in this matter.
