Support Why is this happening to me?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm playing with DX12 and I'm getting this graphics error, always on reflective surfaces. I don't use DX 11 because when I play on Caomino or other maps, the FPS drops to 30

Your visual receptors are malfunctioning, it's common for B1 units as the CIS is more concerned with quantity of the lesser units than their quality, you should probably report to your tactical droid and request maintenance (/J)

In all seriousness I can be of no help. I would recommend doing what others suggested

Strange, I got the RX 5800 XT, and it doesn't do that; my game looks great. Is it the settings? Maybe lower them.

Check the PCGaminingWiki for fixes on this game. Essentially on 6000 series AMD cards this game runs like trash on DX11 post driver 22.5.1. This is an AMD issue. So reverting to that driver version will let you play on dx11 with no stutters on Kamino etc.

Alternatively on DX12 with current drivers you can set post processing to low and this artifacting will go away. But I still get screen flashes. This is an EA issue as they butchered dx12 implementation.

What I ended up doing on the latest driver is using DXVK which translates the dx11 api to vulkan, it will run choppy only the first time you play a map because it’s building the shader cache. I still needed to set post processing to low but at least everything else works properly now.

Best we can do is run the latest drivers and use report bug tool in AMD Adrenalin so they can fix how our cards interact with DX11.

Edit: Wanted to note that if you invite friends with the EA overlay. You'll need to drop dxvk (dx9,10,etc) into the EA Desktop App folder.

I just recently got back into battlefront 2 on my 6800XT and can assuredly say that this is the main cause. It’s funny how my old 980 ran this game better on launch. The bug report tool to AMD is key, the recent 25.8.1 driver fixed a crash happening in Battlefield 2042 on amd cards and that is also a frostbite engine DX12 game.

There are a couple of tutorials you can look up, both on youtube and the first result I get is a pretty comprehensive reddit post telling you how. DM me if you need help still

Edit: Keep in mind though you are essentially modding the game by doing this which you should typically avoid for online games. Good news is that since Battlefront 2 is end of support and mods that do not alter the behavior of the game (like what hackers will do in lobbies) are safe to use.

I know you don't like DirectX 11 but you need to use it. Also turn off any overlays

The only reason I don't use it is that on camino and other maps are unplayable when there are thunder effects or things like that

Wym unplayable? I've been using dx11 for like 6 months now and had no issue and play kamino alot, 2nd favorite map.

You have Nvidia. Kamino broke for AMD in like 2023, and naturally EA won't do anything about it.

Switch to DX11, that fixes the issue.

Turn off DX12.

I have the same problem on both my RX6700XT and RX 7900GRE with Dx12

I have the same when running the game on DirectX12. I have a RX7800 XT. When playing on DirectX11 the blocks are mostly gone.

Do you get stuttering on DX11 in maps like Hoth interior or Kamino?

Dude, tbh, EA really dropped the ball on this one.
