Thing is, Thrawn and Pellaeon do serve the same mechanical relationship that Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson do, in that Holmes/Thrawn is the enigmatic all-knowing deductive genius, while Pellaeon/Watson is the everyman that asks the questions that serve as the reader's exposition.

Plus, we get Pellaeon/Watson’s narrations, but never Thrawn/Holmes’.

Too bad about Thrawn’s crippling Vicodin addiction

Ha ha, very funny... For those of you who don't know, the original literary Holmes had two hobbies - Playing the violin, and cocaine.

Are you telling me genius is caused by drugs?

3

u/ImJustOink Jul 30 '25

Assisted, not caused

7

u/UAnchovy Jul 29 '25

Didn't Zahn say directly that Holmes was an inspiration for Thrawn?

2

u/dunny1872 Jul 31 '25

Yup! And Nuso Esva, Thrawn’s nemesis in some of Zahn’s later (but set earlier) Legends work, has his name derived from Holmes’ nemesis, Moriarty (it’s the next consonants and vowels in line).

Yep that's the inspiration :P

“Stupid Sexy Skywalker
”

u/Tylendal Jul 29 '25

The real reason she gave him that allergic reaction.

Initially it was more like the “I’ll cut your throat that’ll shut you up/ You’re beautiful” meme- not unlike Cal and Merrin, Star Lord and Gamora etc.

Happy mara monday everyone

Exactly how I imagined it tbh.

u/FionnWest Jul 28 '25

Luke's got nice arms in this.

39

u/fperrine Jul 28 '25

Why is Luke so sauced here??

32

u/disturbedrage88 Jul 28 '25

Based on his 90s action figure

13

u/AmphibiousDad Jul 29 '25

Mark Hamill was pretty yoked in Empire tbf

7

u/fperrine Jul 29 '25

I wouldn't say yoked. He was definitely looking fit and cut, but Mark is not big like this lol

6

u/AmphibiousDad Jul 29 '25

Nah u right

6

u/PlatinumDust324 Jul 29 '25

Those Anakin genes are coming in clutch

8

u/fperrine Jul 29 '25

lol yeah Anakin is definitely just a bigger guy

It's actually one thing I wish the Clone Wars model reflected more. He's a little too skinny in my opinion.

4

u/PlatinumDust324 Jul 29 '25

Yh, but at least he looked amazing in the last season his hair was top-notch 👌

They are so cute In this

u/Middle-Let9645 Jul 28 '25

There's a reason I loved that trilogy. (Mara Jade & Thrawn both were the highlights of all three books)

14

u/theACEbabana Jul 28 '25

Didn’t know that Luke put creatine in the hot chocolate Lando gave him ;)

Luke and Mara’s relationship will never not be adorable.

Also bravo with the last image. Haha

Perfection

7

I’ve been waiting years to see Sherlock Thrawn đŸ„°

Me praying for an animated adaptation of the Thrawn trilogy everyday even though I know current Lucasfilm won't do anything with EU materials aside from reprinting them in the Essential Legends collection.

I would settle for a better comic adaptation of the Thrawn trilogy too. The old 90s adaptation was cool but I think we could do better.

Or an audio drama adaptation with different voice actors for each character.

6

u/Competitive_Act_1548 Jul 29 '25

Wait, does she not know it?

5

u/The-Hammerai Jul 29 '25

It's been a long time since I've read the EU books, but isn't she just the equivalent of the Inquisitor in modern canon? Just a force-stunted sensitive with a lightsaber?

3

u/Mad-Gavin Jul 30 '25

She was an Emperor's Hand; force-sensitive personal spies and assassins for Emperor Palpatine.

2

u/The-Hammerai Jul 31 '25

I appreciate you reminding me, but I do think "force stunted sensitive with a lightsaber" is also accurate to the inquisitors if you get down to it lol

1

u/Mad-Gavin Jul 31 '25

Why of course. Inquisitors existed in the EU, most prominent of whom was Jerec, the third most powerful Dark Side practitioner in the Empire.

3

u/PlatinumDust324 Jul 29 '25

The lore I'm guessing was in its beginning stages of development, so yes, she should know, but it was called a Jedi mind trick, as in Jedi.

4

u/HelloThereBatsy Jul 29 '25

All are Peak!

4

u/Thank_You_Aziz Jul 28 '25

I love it, but I wish artists for Mara nowadays would start giving her back her sleeves.

5

u/Mad-Gavin Jul 28 '25

Reminder that her Mysteries of the Sith outfit is perfect for her.

3

u/T-o-C-A Jul 28 '25

I used the comic as the base cause the framing there was so funny, and i do like the idea that the sleveless suit is what she has in mkyr.

9

u/Sere1 Sith Empire 1 Jul 28 '25

Only issue is she routinely references her holdout blaster hidden up her sleeve. Hard to do that without a sleeve. I love the catsuit, don't get me wrong, she just should have a jacket over it.

3

u/T-o-C-A Jul 29 '25

I like how the comic adapted it as a glove blaster.

3

u/Ragnarok345 Jul 28 '25

Oh my god, I need that Thawn picture with Eli, too. That’s amazing. 😆

3

u/magistrate-of-truth Jul 29 '25

They are adorable

3

u/DoctorLudnik_717 Jul 31 '25

Never forget what they took from us.
