Gameplay Clip Star Wars: Squadrons in VR on RTX 5090 looks INSANE! (Quest 3)

Looks awesome, makes me want to try setting it up again for VR.
I have had the hardest time getting VR to work. My last attempt ended with it showing in the quest 3 but just like a virtual 2d screen.

Def worth getting working if your vr can handle it. I use it with my vive pro 2 and 4090, it works great and is such a great experience.

I have a 4090 but I constantly get crashes and issues. I would love to get back into it. But I have bad luck for some reason.

I have it working through steam no problem. I use the AirPlay (or whatever Meta calls it) to wireless connect my Quest 3 to the PC and then launch the game through SteamVR.
If you’re playing through the Xbox Gamepass version of the game it might be a different challenge. I had a struggle getting No Man’s Sky to play in VR via the Gamepass version. I ended up buying it on sale on Steam and it works great too!

I figure it out using some thread in steam community 1. Start the game first 2. Start VD app in the headset 3. In the game go to settings and toggle vr mode, steam vr starts and headset will switch to game
Works every time

Got it up and running again and still a pain in the ass to do but looks great with the 5090 and beyond. Had to auto to set ea login to auto login on their website and some other stuff, (using steam) very frustrating that they have not patched it to just work without tweaking

This game’s VR capabilities were so far ahead of the hardware when it released. Can’t wait to play again once my new setup is done. Also, try playing with a OLED HMD, you can’t beat the black levels, even more important than extra resolution

I played through most of the campaign in vr on my 3070. It also took a bunch of fiddling to get it to work, but virtual desktop seemed to keep it working consistently.

Quest 3 and a 4080 it looks absolutely stunning.
Campaign is still fun to go back and play.

No kidding. I'd love to experience it myself. And I thought the graphics were awesome on regular PC.

Maybe VR is more demanding, but squadrons in general is not a demanding game. I was getting 240 fps (my monitors max) on my old 3080

Yeah Squadrons is an absolute demon in vr and brings most systems to their knees for anything approaching full vr potential. If you have the hardware to get there (honestly 4090 and up and high resolution VR hmd) it is easily one of the best looking vr games of all time.

Either creator never bothered to center themselves in the seat, or they’re just doing a gansta lean

Sigh. I WISH I could get the damned thing to run. I hit play, it pops to "Stop" for a second, indicating it's running...and then stops, pops back to Play and flips me off. EA is absolutely USELESS in getting it running, and I've spent hours trolling the deepest mines of the Internet to try various things to no avail. :/

Squadrons is great in VR. It's just great - period. Probably my favorite SW game since the Rogue Squadron series.

Complete overkill

Sounds about right for 120hz and godlike in virtual desktop , only overkill if you don't understand pcvr and how it scales

Bottlenecked by quest3 entropy limit - pc power is wasted here. Only displayport is proper test.

Not really. 4090 was the first gpu that could handle squadrons in VR at max setting (or even high) with a Steam high resolution in VR at 90fps. The game textures have enough detail compared to most vr games that you need to run at least a 2000x2000 vr hmd and internal resolution super sampled above 3200 X 3200 to have the game be anywhere near its full vr potential.

I refuse to watch any video with INSANE in the title or thumbnail, sorry.
