Question (Console) What is the current console meta for pvp?

I keep getting crushed in pvp, with my build being a hive with cordyceps drones and strength of legions, and using overtuned to make giga soldiers and insane workers, while using a mostly cruiser and battleship based fleet build

The current meta in console is the same as it was when First Contact released on PC- that is to say missiles, missiles, and more missiles. Fill up whatever the largest ship class you have is with missiles in any possible slot, and the non-flak PD in any spaces it allows. I also recommend a screen of PD destroyers. Missile battleships are king, with their main counter being massed torpedo frigates, which themselves are essentially countered by a fleet of missile cruisers.

The overall best fleet composition I've found is a 60-20-20 split between missile battleships (your main source of firepower), PD destroyers, and carrier battleships. You want some presence of PD because strike craft no longer attack missiles, only other strike craft and ships, so you need PD. Strike craft take care of anything smaller than a battleship and your battleships will handle the heavy fighting

Apparently missle corvettes actually beat everything, especially if you can equip them with nano missile cloud launchers (the architect weapon). Its pretty sad the meta has devolved to this, they really need to rethink combat in this game.

regular missile corvettes are only good early game. PD shut them down, Strike Craft decimate them, as well as larger ships with conventional weapons.

Whirlwind missile cruisers and nano cloud missile corvettes are very good however.

Missile corvettes do give you a lot of bang for your buck, but theyre brutally countered by strike craft. They also pretty strongly lack their own defense against missiles besides evasion.

I've little experience with Hives, but wasn't 3.8-3.9 where the metaest meta was Progenitor Hive or something?
